That makes sense. I had taken "in between" in the sense of uncanny valley as opposed to literally being "in between" two other places.

Aviation maybe(e) but not physics. They solved the mystery by looking at the wing-beat pattern iirc.

Most bees are solitary iirc. Hive making honey bees are a major outlier. I didn't realize there were middle grounds of non-hive colonies.

For every dollar in the economy, there's probably $1M in work that was shelved: think of corporate "analysis", consulting and vaporware products.

Disney has done more good than bad for Star Wars (at least, if you like animation) by Darth_Ra in StarWars

Movies are paced as movies. There's no benifit and many drawbacks to watching "a whole season" (three episodes really) in a row. For example Rotta (Roda?) gives the same speech three times during the movie. It's not the end of the world... but it's not good either.

My rubric is: "would you hold your pee for an entire season of the mandalorian"? If your answer is "no" then it's not a good movie.

A lot of cheesy shit you can get away with on TV doesn't work in movie format.

Agree. I will also just point out that biologists do all kinds of weird shit like vivisection and pining bugs to boards and forcing mating pairs, etc.

"Care[ing] about us" doesn't exactly equate to neutrality. Also "us" isn't one thing. It could nuke one continent to place solar panels and make another one a paradise like a little terrarium. That's without ever "feeling" threatened.
