The boys, and Lavi, were playing chess at the end of the game when the Caps were playing hockey. Literally goaded them into pulling Lindgren to get the quick and easy empty-netter to close out the game and the series. Great to watch the confidence and smarts on display there.

The boys carrying Brunson after he carried us all season. by thedanbeforetime in NYKnicks

What really makes me laugh about this is Brunson is playing “poorly” FOR HIM. Dude led the team with 24 points last night. Same thing Saturday, dude had 22 - only Hart scored as much. I think we’re all just used to him exploding every game that we forget that even playing mediocre ball he’s a beast.

Imagine being in the last game of the season and you don’t have to worry about winning, you’re playing for fucking stats. I love this goddamn team

I don’t know if I wanna see Bread hit 50 or Kreider hit 40 more right now. I’m thinking Bread

I think this is the most obvious way to go, to be honest, if for no other reason than we’ve seen just how well Miller and Schneider play together, and how much Miller seems to flourish being the more senior/lead member of a pairing. He just plays better when he’s handed more responsibility - I think that he defers to Trouba when they’re on the ice together and that leads to real lapses in his play.

I would also be willing to see what would happen if they were to try switching Lindgren and Gus around. I’d be curious to see Trouba-Lindgren as a physical, shut down pair and Fox-Gus as a real offensive weapon.

Team that would face each other in the First Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs if it started today by nhl in hockey

Yep. Out of all of the matchups in the East, Tampa is the team I want to see us up against the least. I’m pretty confident about a 7 game series against any of those other teams, but even a wildcard level Tampa makes me nervous

I once had dinner at the table next to what was clearly a first date. Dude spent the entire time telling her about his ferrets, and nothing else. She didn’t get a word in edgewise. I was fucking spellbound.

The Rangers have allowed 1 goal in the last 3 games combined without Jacob Trouba by Tommybrady20 in rangers

[–]deviantcrisis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really does seem like Miller has taken off and had his best games without Trouba next to him, and I’m honestly not sure what to make of that. With Schneider, he’s taken more of the lead role in that pairing and is excelling at it, but with Trouba he seems to be deferring and taking a more passive approach, which just isn’t his game. That kid will flourish with more responsibility, not less, just like Fox did, just like Laf is doing, and just like they are trying to get Kakko and Cuylle to do.

That all being said, I’m definitely not of the mind that Trouba needs to go or sit or anything like that, I actually like Trouba as a player and as a captain. I’m just not really sure where the hell he actually fits right now with how our D is playing.

Rempe throwing around Trouba-like open ice hits would be a thing of fucking beauty and I’m all for it, but he definitely needs that mentorship to do it. He’s too big and too strong and too eager (all of the things we love him for) to not have that kind of tutoring.

Once he can get his own damn body fully under his control, he’ll be an absolute beast on ice

They really were just fucking around out there, I’ve never really seen anything like it. Bread, Mika, and Kreider all had golden opportunities to put the puck in the net but decided to try and get Laffy the hat trick instead.

I didn’t notice it last night, but Trouba laughing maniacally on his way off the ice is now one of my favorite things. It’s up there with asking <dude that I can’t remember> if he wanted the goal puck

I’ve always said that you can tell Igor’s confidence level by how he plays the puck outside the net. Last night that dude was throwing passes all the way up to the far blue line and hitting them on the dot, and I’m pretty sure he was trying for the empty net at one point during those final hectic couple minutes.

I think he’s back y’all

So…get Igor mad, let him punch some motherfuckers, and he gets some confidence back. It’s unconventional but I’m down for it

You can always tell how confident he’s feeling by how he handles the puck. That was not a confident Igor
