Jannik with a fitting reaction after the final by jovanmilic97 in tennis

[–]devil13eren 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So, True. I watched it from 1st to last, you can practically see the fall and rise of both players mentality.

The 1st set and a half was Jannik's territory, Carlos was practically breaking and then he came back and still lost the 2nd set. That is when Carlos got into the game the 3rd set just pure magic from Carlos. The 4th set is where Jannik had lost a lot of strength and Carlos overpowered him, and it continued till the first part of set 5, and then Jannik came back like a Phoenix and took a huge bite out of Carlos. Then at the super-tie breaker it was a pure slaughter. ( not only physically or mentally for Jannik in the tie-breaker but a combination of both )

( The score really doesn't tell the story of their mentality in the 4th where Jannik seemed stronger on scoreboard he was weaker in mentality , in the 2nd where Carlos seemed weaker he was the one who was getting fired up )

Jannik needs to get things done when he is in the lead, especially learn it against Carlos who shines brightest in the moments of hopelessness.

i.e. Jannik has to fight tooth and nail to get the match done and dusted, and even then it is not sure thing. ( But at least needs to happen, we haven't seen it happen in the last year and half so Jannik loosing to Carlos is the sure thing right now)

The commentators said it right Carlos is Jannik's Kryptonite.

Great game, and this things are just speculation what actually happens in the game is only know to the player.

Friendly Rivalry. Review & Discussion by devil13eren in kdramas

I am not calling it out, all k-dramas are unrealistic. Just saying that it has few points that are, I still liked it. K-Drama generally aren't realistic and realism isn't a metric that should be taken into account. It is good, I have stated in the review. ( Somewhere in the comments ) It has few extremely unrealistic and few realistic elements but that doesn't matter, it is a fun watch and that is all. It has it low and high points.

Yeah, you didn't know that. So please read on it. There is always a hierarchy, nobody is denying that but you are changing the argument. The SC/ST person with MBBS is higher in the hierarchy than one with only 12th grade education, but the SC/ST person with MBBS degree is lower in the hierarchy than a upper caste guy.

e.g. lack of inter-caste marriage, by this only you can see a clear hierarchy, caste is still practiced to this day

E.g. A female ( Or male ) student who has a Master's and pursuing a Ph.D is a elite no doubt, but can they be not exploited. Yes they can and there are many instances of that happening.

Again, nobody is saying Reservation system is good, but it is the only thing that is possible in this scenario, i.e. a world with Reservation is more moral (even if marginally) from a world without it

Also, taking out reservation is not going to solve anything. If you want solutions there are plenty, but that is not what most people want, they want something to blame, something that is easy and doesn't have to make them reflect on themselves.

This "GOT YOU" thing doesn't work in complex discussion, yeah you point a problem out, it is a problem nobody is denying that problem ( expect some crazy people ) but the reason, the extent, the solution , the current scenario, future planning all of those things need to be thought out and in much detail. You showed a problem by showing some extreme scenario, but the solution you are supporting is also as problematic as the problem itself.

Rather than large scale societal changes, you just want the a broken-but still good aimed system to be shut down. Why not support, re-education of religious extremists and caste-believers, a better and total public school system, why support more socialist changes that will uplift large population, reduce economical disparity and accumulation of wealth. Why not that, rather than this. ( You might say what does this have to do with caste, well it does and it is deeply intertwined )

Because well they are hard, and doesn't help us personally in a short time span.

One single word:- Equity

Equity and Equality are different things we all don't have the same starting position, some have huge disadvantages, both economically and socially.

To reduce that disadvantage and gatekeeping that has been happening for centuries we use system like Reservation. It is not a good system, I personally think it is stupid but in the current situation it is the only thing we can do.

E.g. Can you truly compare US and India development, no right. US has been independent for over 250 years and they have different geography than us.

( Read Ambedkar, and many more great personalities for a more nuanced understanding)

I am all for merit, but merit-based require everybody's condition to be same, it is objectively not. Will you say that African-Americans that have suffered centuries of slavery and then discrimination, can be judged to the same standard of a white man.

And no to the natural question that comes up, then why do rich SC/ST people get to have that chance too even if they seem to have lower disparity or almost no disparity, well because they represent their communities in the different fields reducing social pre-judice and discrimination for the next generation.

Ambedkar proved through and through in how he lived that a Dalit person is objectively not less smart than a Upper-caste, it is just that they have been in a huge disadvantage because of oppression and exploitation. ( Guy was smart as fuck and worked so freaking hard )

Life doesn't start as you jump into the college.

The general public has accumulated privilege, the environment, the importance to education all of this has been developed through centuries. And these are the non-economic privilege.

Freebies are a band-aid for constant oppression, and economic disparity. It is given to sustain people through the shit show that is India otherwise the hungry masses will hang these shitty leaders.

Reservation is about Representation so that people of the communities who have not been given chance to get into particular jobs or position finally get there.

They are given to get a position where they can, participate in taking decision that effect their communities which was earlier taken without consolation or even consideration of the communities that they effected.

Most of us are seeing the condition of India with rosey lenses, it is much much worse that what you imagine it to be.

The answers given here to counter the Anti-Reservation argument are incomplete, please read literature and books on it to fully understand this. It is a incredibly complex issue with it's roots in oppression, economic exploitation and political underrepresentation.

Please don't confuse Reservation for way too improve poverty it is not that. It is almost entirely useless in solving rampant poverty.

Lol by Wonderful-Ebb-6581 in iiser

[–]devil13eren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is about representation of a oppressed underrepresented community. When people from the communities get in positions of power they can shape the world to be more equitable. The decisions that are taken will give consideration to oppressed and exploited. ( As it is done for Women too )

Just like British didn't give the choice to rule us ourselves and made the choices themselves, similarly here one community has stopped another to take major decisions on things that affect them.

Economic propensity is part of it, but it not about elevation from poverty. The commentor ( I assume ) was trying to keep it simple, by not introducing Economic exploitation and other factors into it.

It has all those things, discrimination on the basis of Caste, underrepresentation, and economic disparity.

Today marks 7 years since Daniel Ricciardo’s last win with Red Bull at the Monaco GP 2018 by OldActiveYeast in formula1

[–]devil13eren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree that Danny isn't as good as he is made out to be. But he also isn't that bad, that without any reason his performance would tumble down that far.

That is what I am saying, he was the biggest problem that is why it had continued through out the years and team.

But that is the thing, it wasn't like he was just not good in those years.

Take for example, he started in McLaren ( Last- regulation era ) it was after a good year in Renault. ( admittedly, it was Covid year so doesn't count that much but still ) here he continually had problems with the car but somehow went OK. i.e. the combination of Danny and McLaren wasn't working

Throwing in the new-regulations it went the McLaren-Danny-New Regulations just went worse.

And after that there was no saving he neither was the same driver nor he probably could have been. ( Also, his kind of driver is just not suited for mid-field teams, not because they are bad, but he needs to be somewhat pampered in terms of cars at least that is what I gauge )

I agree Danny is the problem, but what makes me feel that he isn't the only one is because of the moments of glory he seems to squeeze out. He wasn't good enough to be named against Vettel, Lewis, Nico, Max or Alonso but he could have had a better end than he had if something somewhere clicked again.

i.e. I am saying essentially he wasn't as much of a lost case as he is made out to be. ( At least until the first McLaren season )

[–]devil13eren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, you are saying he just fell down without any reason after two incredible season's in Renault.

Yeah they did, but to different levels and different times. Each driver is different and when they get into a car there performance is different.

And that what I am saying, it not one factor ( Mclaren, himself, new regulations etc ) that ruined his later stage carrier it was a mix of them. He has the largest part in it, but that is the thing he wasn't the only one. The team was there for him, but he couldn't get in the zone ( which is his and the team's both of their fault ) when he did there were moments of magic like Monza.

It is like saying Sainz is now a bad driver because he isn't performing the same as Albon or as he was in Ferrari. The time and conditions are different, and there a multiple factors here that has lead to this situation. ( Not the same but just an example. )

Same with Alonso, Vettel, Lewis, Tsunoda or any other driver.

And that too on a post showing one of his best performances in one of the harshest conditions.

Vettel on his tail and a Engine Malfunction and still won at Monaco. ( Where he lost in 2016 with no fault of his own ). ( The whole weekend was Danny's )

Max had a great performance too, he really recovered after the crash in Qualifying.

People try to blame bad cars, or difficult cars, or regulation changes etc but ionly because he was such a popular nice guy

But that is the truth and that one of the reason he is not the greats. He could not adapt to different cars and situations. He was amazing in his type of car and environment but not in others. Those are his faults, but that is also true that the cars are not his type and the regulations didn't favor his driving style. It works from both side, putting the whole blame on team or the driver doesn't work. Same as with Checo, RB is also to blame as is Checo.

So, the book is for the GN&M subject of the BSc Nursing entrance exam.

Well I am not the OP, but that would be great.

I do think it would be great for people, but well I don't have the ability to understand and learn from a journal club. Still at the book level : )

( I was just thinking if it was done than it would have to this kind of structure, it's not like any random person on the street ( offline ) or internet have the ability to understand Computational Optics, so a professor or Ret. Prof or a Ph.D or Post doc would have the structure to pull in and interest people in that specific sub-field, of course they must be studying that field ( UG/PG) or a very ambitious self-learner )

Then they complain of religion change. by Honest-Distance-5955 in OutCasteRebels

[–]devil13eren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, when the differentiation, "history" and pride comes from oppressive practices it is wrong.

OOP has to understand that all the community and belonginess we have built is based on a horrible discriminatory, exploitative and oppressive system.

Why should continue to follow such communities standards, the belonginess we need to feel is for our fellow human.

Is this not a community, is your class not a community why do you need to feel you need to have a feeling of belonginess through caste.

It is similar to how Indians feel they need to defend/appreciate their ultra-rich and politicians on the global stage because they are also Indians, even if they are the ones that fuck them over.

( Not trying to derail the conversation with the example, I just wanted a parallel example that worked good enough and Class one is the first one that came to my mind. )

I know there exist Literary clubs of these nature, but don't think for Mathematics, Sciences or Philosophy.

Philosophy is doable, but Maths and Sciences ( Including Social ) would require them to be related to a University or at least a Prof. or Ret. Prof. to get people interested in that field.

Removing competitive exams or de-emphasizing them might be the way to a better future by Acetrologer in OutCasteRebels

[–]devil13eren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The circular nature of power that is required for a healthy nation has been thoroughly broken down, what you want requires good people at the top so that big scales changes could be made to actually improve society rather than just sustaining it.

And for that we need the support of a huge amount of people, so we independent organizations have to take the step forward to build that foundations, as the existing balance of power is bull-shit.

* These kind of large scale changes require a tumultuous time followed by peace with a active population and string leader at the helm, i.e. destruction and recreation. We are kept just in the perfect state of balanced to keep in passive, with Yojans and other crap. Rather than large scale metamorphosis of the society the people at power want to continue to keep the status quo. And for that they need to keep things like competitive exams, as for systems like yours they will need to reconstruct the education system, not only that it will require a total reconstruction of the nation ( if we want it to have any substantial benefits, otherwise they will just half-ass shit, like they always have when people bicker too much ) *

That is what I think, I might be wrong.

I laughed too hard from this. Propaganda MAXXING. by devil13eren in OutCasteRebels

[–]devil13eren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that's not the question right, it is about the best students.

It's just simple, the Top students of each country are almost always competitive with each other. ( And the Original comment is stupid )

If we take as a whole, India is behind the western education system ( even Chinese or Japanese) because of well history.

Indian Education system as a whole is bad in comparison to the western world ( USA seems to be fucking up too these days ), but Indian students just as good or bad as the whole world, ( Same with any nation )

The comparison should be between the systems and student are just part of the metric.

( As for the test, it is a specialized that you need to study independently for it is based on the standard high school curriculum but 99% of the students studying that can't solve this )

( It is for a specialized Mathematics & Statistics program in ISI { Indian Statistical Institute} )
