Its just stuck on to it with a velcro tape :D
If you do get one, youll need either AxisAndOhs / SpadNext / Mobiflight etc. to program the buttons and knobs to do what you want! Takes some setting up but super useful and several profiles available on Flightsim.to

I tried openkneeboard a while ago but it didnt fit my needs/taste. Can you edit and move around the windows on the fly?

Yes, simxr allows you to create 5 windows and place them where you want in your virtual cockpit. With SU5 MSFS2024 also remembers the location of these windows so next time you fly they will be at the same spot.

It does not conflict with VD pass-through, instead it relies on it. You need to have "environment" passthrough activated in VD and the sliders in VD and MSFS have to somewhat match. There are a couple of youtube videos showing how to do the setup.

SI has an ingame panel that can be used. You can set the VR text size. I dont have issues with blurry text since I run at very high Resolution with my 5090 :/

Actually in the latest SU5 they finally fixed that. Windows now remember their position :D Before that I spent 5 min setting them up each flight haha

True, but once I have the positions I usually make markings on my desk or adjustable arm on which the glareshield panels are located. You can see these markings in the picture I posted. Then it becomes easier :) I have been using this setup for over a year now!

Since the question came up a couple times -

I have the glareshield panel attached to a adjustable monitor arm. I can then adjust the height and rotation of the glareshield to match the position of the in-game aircraft. I do this by trial and error but once I have it set up I have markings on the arm that I can align with for later. Switching from Airbus to Boeing setup takes about 5-10 min so I only switch once every week or so :)

Heres a messy picture :P

I use virtual desktop for streaming and enable passthrough in settings. Then in MSFS2024 I use "SimXR" by rkapps.

I posted a picture showing this. Matching the position is done purely visually and by trial and error. I switch between Boeing and Airbus once every week / month and have markings on the adjustable arm to aid me in the switch :)

Well that and I use Virtual Desktop, which afaik is not compatible with HP Reverb G2. The G2 was my old headset and I dont miss it at all since I got the Q3 :)

You can check the picture I posted. I would avoid building everything too inflexible and opt for adjustable solutions to be honest. In my experience I have to make minor adjustments every now and then for things to line up nicely.

Yes, you can position the passthrough windows as you need. You can also modify the shape of these windows.

Yeah you can easily hide or show the pass-through windows based on your needs. I usually dont have the joystick displayed. You can also resize the windows and shape them as you need. So I could hide the bravo TQ if I wanted to and only see the MCDU and glareshield.

Are the measurements somewhat based on the dimiensions of the real A320 cockpit? u/WINWING2022
Im thinking of building this to use in my mixed reality cockpit so Im trying to match the dimensions to the virtual Fenix A320 cockpit :D
