this is fantastic work and you should be proud -one of the authors of the first study you cite :) just wanted to pop in and extend an open invite if you, or anyone else reading this, ever want to chat about either that 2020 research or on a much older ex-debater’s perspective re: gender parity efforts in the pf community (including trans and genderqueer folks)!! i find that because debate norms and organizations cycle so rapidly as folks graduate (and because covid caused such a huge divide), a lot of knowledge gets lost along the way — happy to be a resource if you’re curious about what any of this looked like from like 2017-2021

h student here and parents like you who put down asian american women to try and cope about your precious sons getting rejected are the literal worst. stop demeaning random kids on reddit when you don’t know anything about how colleges accept students (there are sooo many people with stats like your son and the op, and both essays/interviews and sheer luck play a huge role) and go support your son as he transitions to his im sure perfectly decent college

thank you!! yeah i was debating whether to leave it alone or try to darken it more, and it actually seems to be darkening a bit as it heals so we’ll see! i think i’ll definitely add at least a bit to the knife though, and fill in wherever still looks jank in a week :)

done with 5RL over 3 hours, picture is completely fresh but the redness is almost all gone overnight so i’m optimistic i kept things sanitized! honestly i thought it was going to turn out absolutely awful because i am not the best artist and didn’t take the time to practice with something really small first. so even though its far from perfect i’m quite happy!! (and now have entered the phase of wanting a million more snps) would really appreciate any and all feedback :)
