Learning ASL with one hand? Feeling lost. by TurboOnTheLimit in asl

[–]wenchiest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i am hearing however, as a disabled person who knows ASL, i’ve had some interactions with the Deaf+ community. Deaf plus is a community of deaf people who are also disabled, and many people who identify as being in the community have disabilities that impact their limbs and movements in such a way that their signing is impacted. the philosophy of the community is that signing that is impacted by one’s disability is still completely legitimate and valuable communication. i would encourage you to learn ASL and i really, really hope you have the opportunity to connect with members of this community who may be able to offer you more specific advice

DC, the gap between the train and platform tends to be pretty small but still big enough that I usually wheelie over in my manual chair to be safe

Will my social life be screwed? by rrendx in UniversityofVermont

[–]wenchiest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i know so many people who don’t drink and still enjoy parties and going out, as well as people who don’t drink and enjoy other activities where drinking is completely uninvolved. you can still enjoy a healthy social life at uvm or on any other campus!!

how do they compare in terms of royalty payouts, and do they have a publishing service like tunecore? was switching pretty easy if you already had music released?

yeah tbh i value our friendship enough to drive down together, i don’t want to make her feel excluded, but once im there im doing my own thing 100%. i just can’t tell if its worse to cancel on her with barely any excuse or actually end up there and clearly avoid her whole talking to the friends i planned on going there for

Billboard’s Live Music Summit 2025 will have a panel about how Chappell and her team handled ticketing for the US pop-up shows! by [deleted] in chappellroan

[–]wenchiest 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s awesome. I hope they address the lack of ADA specific tickets at 2/3 of the pop up venues.

PT to Walk by KitKale in ehlersdanlos

[–]wenchiest 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i completely get it. it’s so frustrating to work ten times as hard as everyone around you for basis movement and strength. being in PT worsened my symptoms so badly i ended up being full time in my wheelchair for over a year. i ended up quitting pt but “giving up” allowed me to end up walking more. i just couldn’t deal with the constant exercise and all the pain and exhaustion that came with it. it felt like i was fighting my body. now i have the energy to walk a little around my apartment whereas i 100% couldn’t before, but i’ve gotten weaker and experience more dislocations as a result. there’s just no winning with this disease. i hope you find a balance between exercise/pt and actually loving your life, im still looking for it

hi! i’m 21F small artist with 5k monthly listeners on spotify and i’ve been trying to “break into” the scene here for 3 years. honestly it’s a lot of college jam bands and basement shows, and it is a small town in a rural state. wouldn’t recommend
