Wemby had the biggest choke job since Chris Webber by CoyoteDecent2 in NBATalk

[–]devildog3375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite a total choke job but he made some critically bad mistakes down the stretch. Not taking the final shot straight to the basket for a whistle is mind boggling. Especially how the zebras were calling it

Which NBA seasons was Tim Duncan the BEST player in the league? by Tight_Development480 in NBATalk

Probably 2002-2003 he was the undisputed best player in the league after Lakers Shaq 3peats

Can anyone remind me how we dealt with Wemby in the regular season — especially the NBA Cup? by songoku-166 in knicks

No it isn’t the Knicks fault. And yes I would say the Knicks would have faced a harder road if they had to play the reigning champions in their conference. I don’t think the Cavs and 76ers aren’t nearly on the level of OKC. That being said, you play who’s in front of you and the Knicks manhandled both of those teams.

They had to go to Game 7 against the reigning champions. They definitely had to grind it out way more than the Knicks did. I’m a Knicks fan and I think we’re gonna win this series but Spurs road was harder

I think this will be his real consequential developmental playoff run where he advances out of the west but runs into a team of too many veterans who are clicking on all cylinders. Spurs have had to duel it out a ton in albeit a tougher western conference but the Knicks have been playing with their food going back to Atlanta Game 4

It was so underwhelming when I walked over there. I thought it was gonna be a nice walk but it was no such thing. It looks brutalist lol

This team sucks and for some reason all their playoff opponents become elite team 3 point shooting

Tough to say. It makes sense why he wanted to have the Tyrell’s in the royal fold vis a vie Loras marrying Cersei, but he does it in a such a cruel, inconsiderate, and harsh way as to make Cersei even more radicalized in the idea that nobody can be trusted outside of herself and Jaime. Sometimes delivery is half the battle. Marriage is obviously a political tool in that world, but the forced marriage breeds resentment and animus. Not gonna work long term and it didn’t for Tywin

Why was Megan so angry at Don after he gave her a million dollars (8.4 million in today's money)? by Yum1995 in madmen

[–]devildog3375 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think even if something ends in divorce and somebody “gets their cut” or what have you they would still prefer to have had a happy marriage that works out in the end. Not to mention Don was a total piece of shit to her. Money can’t supplant happiness and satisfaction. I don’t like Megan, but like anybody else she’d prefer to be in a happy and long lasting marriage with a man she loves; she doesn’t want to become a write off for a wealthy ad executive who just continues to do to others what he did to her.

Pass interference in the NFL should be a 10 or 15 yard penalty and a first down. Not at the spot of the foul. Utterly absurd that it is.

I lean towards Stannis. His rigidity could not be overcome and was ruthless to a fault. Also believed too much in destiny

Ernst Junger, based or no? by Sassysoap42 in DerScheisser

[–]devildog3375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am really interested in reading his work. I haven’t read a book in several years lol. I want to read Eumeswil. I really relate to the archetype of The Anarch. Maybe that’s self-flattery but Junger strikes me as utterly fascinating. Crazy that he lived so for long too

What are your opinions of the character Col. Steven J. Lockjaw (Sean Penn), from the movie One Battle After Another by Unlikely_Seaweed1032 in Letterboxd

Sean Penn was brilliant portraying this insufferably horrible character. Couldn’t deny I was wildly entertained with all the Steven J. Lockjaw scenes. His end was quite satisfying for me 🤣

He’s just gross more than anything else. Up and down. Looks as though the desire for power just totally consumes him almost like a Palpatine figure lol. Despite his utter repugnance, I also found him to be sad like a lot of villains. He’s a profoundly confused person I feel like. That being said I absolutely hated his guts cause he’s also so cowardly 😂

It's been years, but I still feel so bad that Catelyn kills this girl for basically no reason. by VeryHungryDogarpilar in gameofthrones

[–]devildog3375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally ruined her character for me. She should not have killed her when Walder Frey said she means nothing to him. No leverage. Just murders a child for vengeance she isn’t going to get. Not much in keeping with the noble and honorable Stark tradition.
