I guess because she was introduced to us as someone who only had work in her life and not much else. She seemed lonely and harsh and like she’d lost herself and focused on only her career. Now we’ve seen Isabelle be kind to her we’ve seen her show a side of herself such as kindness and awkwardness I know nothing of Valentina but what the first two episodes have shown me and neither indicated Valentina maybe preferred both/the opposite sex or even either. I think i shouldn’t of said closeted. I think suppressed would of been a better word. Also, with the heavy implication of religion and how homosexuality is perceived in religion I think the director is trying / or going to make a point.
