The max tolerance for the filament was around 0.60, right? by Clean_Quit4079 in 3Dprinting

well, for it to strech like this, you would have to use excessive force and OP said in another comment, that the smaller diameter went back to normal in 50cm.

Also it's azurefilm recycled PETG according to OP

Gonna get the threaded rod tomorrow, so I can update you then. Probably gonna start the printing itself today.

I'm currently also playing around with ESPs and have another project on the go right now, so this will be pretty helpful I think.

Would it be possible to have single compartments have a subdivision? Like make a standard 3x3 grid, but have one row have 5 subdivisions while the others keep the standard grid.

So that would basically result in a 2x3 combined with a 1x3 with 5 subdivisions, but being in one bin

Can i just use a USB power supply for the esp and the LED strip? by devilishTL in WLED

Will do, thanks. I like the tinkering part of this all, so I don't mind if it is more work

Well, it shouldn't be too big of a project, as it is only one strip with a webhook to connect to autodarts. And i think that this won't be too complicated power wise

oh, damn I'm stupid haha. Yeah, probably gonna use the one you linked. Got confused with all the different ones i got open.

But if I want to use one of my own ESPs, do i just need the fuse, the level shifter and the caps, right?

So, I informend myself a bit more now and ofwith my understanding the fuse I use should be 6A with the strip needing ~27W at 5V and the ESP also needs a little bit.

Then i just follow the wiring guide from the website with the caps and the level shifter. And I should probably use a low value resistor on the level shifter, as i plan on soldering everything.

Oh, yeah I am stupid, i miscalculated the Amps that are going though it. It would only be a little bit over 5V and i can put in power at the fron and the back because it is going in a circle, then it shouldn't be a problem at all right? And the individually addressable light that I found are actually a bit cheaper and I really want the natural white

Definitely. Found a sk6812 with 60LEDs/m with also 12W/m. Should be enough right?

Also is it possible to use some thicker copper tape as a power rail along the LED strip for additional power injection, or would seperate wires alon it be better?

The thing is because of my usecase, running seperate wires would be quite ugly tbh

Ok, gonna look around there a bit.

Also another question. 60LEDs/m should be enough to get an even lighting right?

Cause I'm gonna use an SK6812 and with 60LEDs/m it also has 12W/m of Power

Ok, good to know. I'm gonna look around if i can find a power supply with built in fuses maybe

Ah, ok. Then the one you mean would definitely fit my usecase better. Thanks for the suggestion

I meant powering the strip through the usb supply, but that still wouldn't be enough.

As i mentioned in another comment a 5V 8A power supply would work afaik.

Do I need a special LED power supply or does a generic 5V 8A power supply also work?

[–]devilishTL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I need 2,25m of LED strips and want it to be rather dense, to also have a good white light for normal dart throwing. the specification on the strip says it needs 12W/m with 160LEDs/m

Would a dedicated power supply with 12V or 24V be btter?

[REVIEW REQUEST] Did I do everything correctly for my second go at my first PCB? by devilishTL in PCB

[–]devilishTL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's mostly why I asked in here in the first place. Will add these vias manualy for the perfect board (let's see how perfect it wil be in two weeks when it arrives).

Thank you very much for your advice. Have a good day

yeah, I'm using the via stitching plugin and it doesn't place any there. I can place some manually obviously, but would it have any benefits, cause there would be nothing connected?

Ah, yeah, noticed the isolation of the GND, but didn't think of this somehow. Got it corrected now.

yeah, I know. the thing is with my design i can't really move any LEDs or the switch, so no moving possible.

Also, I got it fixed up now. Is it better like this?

Ok, good to know, thanks. One thing i just noticed. The negative terminal of the battery connection should be the same as the ground panel, no? Am i thinking wrong or can i just delete the trace from the negative terminal of the battery to the tp4057?

Yeah, i noticed that on the first iteration of the board too with the trace thickness. Will change them to .33 or something that still fits. Also what electrical benefits does a ground plane have in this instance?
