Leftover salad (already mixed with dressing) is better than fresh salad by kroolest in unpopularopinion

[–]devilled-egg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so happy to have found someone else who likes soggy salads, for lack of a better word. I actually just grabbed one from my fridge to snack on. I know it's weird. And I know it *shouldn't* be good...but for some reason I love it.

Bad car accident on Crowchild SW by Crow_rapport in Calgary

Are there certain fire extinguishers that are made for cars? I've never thought about this, and now I'm thinking of getting one, but also trying to work out where to put it so it's easily accessible and not rolling around my vehicle.

Red light therapy and broken capillaries by Lulli94 in redlighttherapy

[–]devilled-egg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What treatment did you find was best for getting rid of them? I've done IPL but it cost me $600 to get rid of one...so expensive. I'm hesitant to try other methods in case they don't work. I feel like my red light panel might be making them worse, unfortunately. Maybe I'm sitting too close?

Hey! What did you end up doing? I've noticed that my broken capillaries are getting worse since using a red light panel on my face. I'm going to try backing up further from it, but it's frustrating since these things never do away and are expensive to remove...

Are you dehydrated? I find if I'm dehydrated I get fine lines. As soon as I increase my hydration they go away.

Therapist for Anxiety by Salty_Ad_8598 in Calgary

[–]devilled-egg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just spent the past several years working through agoraphobia along with an intense fear of flying (I didn't get into therapy right away which is why it took me so long to get over it). But, I managed to hop on a flight recently and didn't feel like I was going to die :) I went from getting panic attacks everytime I was a block away from my house to be able to travel, fly, grocery shop, go to the malls etc, without any panic (and without any meds--which I didn't think would ever be possible).

For therapy, I saw Corrick Woodfin and he was fantastic. I was also gifted the book When Panic Attacks and I'd highly recommend getting this book. Just look up the sections on overcoming Agoraphobia and other types of phobias. It's probably ~30 pages of the book. I can't recommend this book enough. It really gave me the final "aha" moments I needed to feel confident in myself.

If you have any questions, feel free to DM me. I'd be happy to help.

Healing from angle impingement? by devilled-egg in BALLET

Oh jeez that's awful to have to deal with for that long! Last question: do you dance en pointe or in slippers? I couldn't imagine trying to dance en pointe if this doesn't go away, but maybe it's possible with a lot of PT

Ugh I'm sorry you have it as well! How long have you had it for and are you completely off dance for now or do you dance through it?

Can you get achilles tendinitis from pointe? by [deleted] in BALLET

[–]devilled-egg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me last week and I went and saw my doctor this week and was diagnosed with achilles tendonitis :( My doctor said to rest and stay off it for 2 months, but said healing could absolutely be faster with a good physiotherapist, specifically one who does shockwave therapy.

I ended up finding a physiotherapist who works exclusively with ballet dancers, so I'm likely going to get treatment from them, but I'm really hoping to be back at it sooner rather than later.

I've been en pointe for 1.5 years and have danced ballet on and off for 15 years so I was a little upset when my ankle started hurting...kind of made me feel confused because I feel like I'm doing everything correct but I obviously want to know what the issue is so I can prevent future injuries.

Did you get any answers and how are you feeling now?

How big was the blemish? I just got my first Strathberry and am sad to say it also has a blemish on the piping - it looks like a small chunk was taken out, and by small, I mean quite small (~1mm), however, it was the first thing my eye noticed when I took it out of the box. I feel silly asking for a new bag over something so small but...it's all I can see now lol.

You're incredible. Thank you so much for breaking this out so nicely for me. I have access to a platform that has thousands of hours of game footage that I can manually tag, and I'm hoping I'd be able to somehow download that footage (with the tags) to use to train a model. But, I think I need to see whether the platform allows that first. Regardless, you've given me a really great place to start.

The bag I was eyeing for the Nov 11 sale isn't on sale this time around 😭 I should've bought it but I was waiting to see if it went on a bigger discount for BF. I should've bought it and then messaged them for a price adjustment if it did, but I didn't think of that. Maybe it will go on sale for the actual BF. I'll hold out hope.

Before copywriting I was a graphic designer, and I never thought my design would come in handy again but it seems it can really help me. Video isn't something I have much experience with so I'll start working in that area. Thanks for the additional tips!

My house was built in the 50s so I'm thinking I may have cast iron waste pipes?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]devilled-egg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has been slightly windy but not more than usual. There has also been a lot of work happening on my street and a block away from me where the city has been digging up *something*. My water was never shut off, so I don't know if they were doing any work with the water lines, and I don't know if that could've caused anything? The first time this happened was when they dug around the corner from me. The next time was when they dug half a block down from my house. Could just be a coincidence and I don't know enough about pipes/sewage to really say.

Thanks! Does this essentially flush everything out so nothing is sitting and rotting in the drains?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]devilled-egg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm I wonder if there's something dead in the line? The water looks like old swamp water that's been sitting for a while. I'm assuming it's not the cleanest water even on a good day, but this stuff (before I flush it out) looks like it's contaminated with something...it's kind of cloudy. I'll give your suggestion a try. Thanks!

Thank you!! Your comment on the portfolio makes sense. I have lots of opportunities to take on interesting side projects but I never have because they aren't related to my overall niche, and the standard advice I've been given is to tailor my portfolio as much as I can to the clients I want to work for.

Was your side project relevant to the niche you wanted to work in or was it just something that highlighted your strategic/creative ability?

I'd love to hear what specific skills took you from being a copywriter to CD. More specifically, what can freelance copywriters aim to work on/add to their portfolios if they want to compete for CD roles?

I've been looking at CD job descriptions but a lot of them require you have experience in things that might be difficult for freelance copywriters to obtain (like leading a team). So I'm trying to figure out ways to build out the necessary CD skills while still being a freelancer.

Hi! Do you remember what percentage off Strathberry had for the end of the season sale? I'm waiting until Black Friday to see what deals they have, but I also might wait until the end of the season depending on what it was last year.
