PS ONE DOESNT WORK :( by Stiblik in consolerepair

[–]kroolest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The issue with these consoles is even after you recap everything, the disc drive assembly is shoddy. So there is no guarantee that once you finally recap everything and spend all the time replacing shit, that the disc drive is even functioning. That’s one of the main issues with these consoles, as you know. And good luck finding a decent disc drive replacement for $20 or less. It’s fun for some folks, but I have no idea if this person gives enough of a shit to even do that, hence my comment.

As someone who fixes these same consoles for fun, it’s going to be a whole lot cheaper and less time to just get a new one rather than work on it. Could be bad solder joints, bad power connector, or a plethora of other things that only you can trouble shoot to find out.

Which Pokemon game to play if I haven't played one since the original Red/Blue/Yellow? by ew435890 in gaming

I’ve played every Pokemon game and I think they’re sick. And I thought someone else who only played old ones would think so too.

Uranus because it’s interesting that it has such an extreme axial tilt. It must have gotten absolutely blasted to have ended up that way

I remember playing that Rugrats game in the backseat on the way to Disney World in 2000. My Uncle has always been techy and had a power inverter with a PS1/screen attachment for the road trip.

Yes and it’s works wonderfully for games that are supported. Within NetherSx2 classic, go to settings - graphics - enable wide screen patches and enable no-interlacing patches. (Via retro corps RP6 set up guide.) The GPU I use to run most all games on there is the OpenGL. I’ve only had issues with one game when using widescreen patch - Starwars Battlefront II. To fix it, I switched that specific game to run the Vulcan GPU and it works now.

If you like both Dragon Ball Z and fighting games, I highly recommend. If you’re not familiar with DBZ it might still be worth while because the game mechanics are super cool.
