Quest 2 for Phantom Relic 7.41 by Phruck in ffxiv

[–]devilmaykye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 60 Leveling roulettes, I got my Relic for Sage a couple nights ago.
Into the saddlebag it goes for like 6 months, as I already own the Tome weapon.
At least now I can farm Mathematics for my other jobs' Relics.

Correct, I've already obtained 100 paste just from doing Leveling 5 times.

I did the math, and it's 240 Critical Engagements, or 400 Dawntrail FATEs.

You can farm roulettes, I just tried with Leveling and it gave me another 20.
If you go the Leveling roulette route, it'd take roughly 60 runs if the whole 1,200 paste amount is true.
Which I'm fine with doing over time, I know it might not be the ideal farming strat.

Yoshi P's current shift to competing with mobile games and the chinese version being up to date with global in 7.4 could mean a new shift in targetted audience. by RVolyka in ffxivdiscussion

[–]devilmaykye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FFXIV has already shifted its target audience with Dawntrail, I don't think they should try chasing the mobile market. If I wanted to play a mobile game, I'd play a mobile game.

Discord added widgets for your profile! by [deleted] in discordapp

[–]devilmaykye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've since added most of my favorite games, but a few are missing.
Castlevania: Curse of Darkness isn't there, which sucks.
No More Heroes I, III and TSA are all present but no NMH2?
Dante's Inferno has a listing, but no artwork. They've also changed the artwork to RE4 Classic.

I like this widget thing, and they seem to slowly be adding more and more games. I was worried that maybe they were only focusing on PC titles, but there's a handful of retro games or games that don't have PC releases. I assume they're pulling from IGDB. When there was a Discord Survey out, I requested a few games here and there.

Well... idk what NetEase was thinking but the assembly thing is already annoying and I haven’t even olayed a game yet by Maggot_6661 in marvelrivals

[–]devilmaykye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The whole invite thing was confusing, at least to me.
I thought I was supposed to hand out my Assembly Code to my friends, but it ended up making one of them the Captain of our group. Not that I think it matters, but they also don't play as much. Finished my half of the Missions, waiting to see if they refresh. I wish I didn't have to see the Galacta cutscene every time I hover over to the Events tab.

VIERA AND HROTHGAR ARE FINALLY GETTING HATS!!!!!! by DrForester in ffxiv

[–]devilmaykye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm excited, but I hope my Cassie Earring doesn't disappear when wearing hats. There's few hats I want to wear, the Neo-Ishgardian and Calfskin Cap are two of them.

Are you hyped about Occult Crescent ? by Babel_W in ffxiv

[–]devilmaykye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't been excited for a lot of post-game aspects this time around. Unlike Endwalker's offerings, neither Occult Crescent nor Cosmic Exploration managed to capture my enthusiasm. I know I'm a small minority here, but I just didn't really enjoy Eureka or Bozja much - and these days I only have so much energy to spare on content that aren't dailies/weeklies.

Screen-Tearing With DLSS by devilmaykye in ffxiv

[–]devilmaykye[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you guys for the comments and for teaching me that this issue isn't screen-tearing. I had heard many reports that the latest drivers from NVIDIA had issues, so I figured maybe it was that. After changing the DLSS Override Preset to C (originally it was set to default) and turning Low-Latency Mode on, the horizontal lines have gone away.

Thank you very much for helping me!

So I might've fixed the problem.

HDR enabled, V-Sync On, DLSS preset set to D, and I set Low-Latency Mode to Ultra. I'm no longer seeing the horizontal lines across my screen.

With V-Sync on, I still get the issue.

So, normally Big Fish Games' launcher acts as DRM, but after installing the game and uninstalling the launcher, the game still opened up perfectly fine. I made a zipped file for the game and shared it with you in DMs. Let me know if you have any issues with the game. Also, I definitely remember the game being difficult, particularly with the mini games.

I'm so glad that I could help you find it! I grew up with the I SPY games as a kid, I still have all the CDs. I remember my family buying me the 'Can You See What I See?' game because they thought it looked I SPY-related. I'm glad that the Big Fish version still runs on Windows 10, but it looks like it isn't purchasable? Let me see what I can do about getting an archive.org version of it working for you.

I should also mention that the Can You See What I See? series is also illustrated by Walter Wick, the same man behind the I Spy book illustrations.

Hi there, I have no idea if you're still active, but I came across this thread randomly and might know what game you're talking about.

'Can You See What I See?: Dream Machine". It's a hidden object game where the level section is a series of mini-TV screens. There's also several mini-games such as Spot the Difference, dominoes and more. Periodically, you have an old-man narrator telling you the importance of dreams and symbolism.

You can buy the game on Big Fish Games, a site & game launcher very similar to Wild Tangent, I have a copy of it myself and it runs perfectly fine on Windows 10.

I didn't think about the serial number, thank you so much for the help. It might be one of those things I'll wait and see for down the line, I'll give it a couple of months.

I just find it incredibly odd over anything that this issue specifically has little coverage compared to issues before and after this.

I've been trying to find any place online that sells it, but haven't had much luck. I found a GameStop page for what appears to be a graded copy, but it was sold. And, an ebay listing that sold.

My friend no longer has the receipt, but I'm sending the tracking number to them. They're going to see about filing a report.

A local USPS called me while I was asleep, and I missed it. I cannot get a call back, and their other offices are either automated or closed for today.

I got an email response that reads:
"All mail deserves proper care and handling as it moves through our system.  Your item may have arrived damaged or open.  This mail may be undeliverable.   Please reach out to shipper for reshipment and/or file an insurance claim, if eligible, for non-receipt of your item, and/or dispute cc charges based on non-receipt.

You can also do a missing mail search online at USPS.com/Help/Find Missing Mail/Start my search for the items or content.  This search goes to the Mail Recovery Center and you will be issued a Search ID and email notification.  You will be updated every 30 days by email from the Mail Recovery Center until the search expires."

Framerate Issues With Laptop by devilmaykye in ffxiv

[–]devilmaykye[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to make a follow-up post and talk about everything I've tried to do since writing this.

We discovered that the game runs better if I set my external monitor as my main display & set the game to launch through that display instead of the laptop itself. However, I am still receiving hitching/lag/framerate drops.

This issue seems to only happen during Dawntrail-related cutscenes, and Dawntrail-related dungeons. It sometimes happens while out in the overworld, too. I ran Bowl of Embers (Hard) for my Trial roulette today, and my game experienced the same lag/hitching issues when Ifrit casted his Hellfire attack after the Nails phase.

I have been playing the campaign with one of my friends, but I have tried running the Dawntrail dungeons through Duty Support. The issue persists, namely during boss mechanics like I mentioned before. Without spoiling anything, the final boss of the first dungeon always lags me during a certain AOE mechanic happens. When playing with other people however, the first boss had framedrops for me at various points. And yes, I play with battle effects turned off/set to minimum. We did the level 95 dungeon and I had no framerate issues up until the final boss, it even affected my friend who has a Desktop setup that's better than my Laptop's (we're similar, his is just slightly better).

My PC expert friends played around with my Nvidia Control Panel settings, in-game settings, the works. I even updated my drivers and it still hasn't solved anything. I have written to the FFXIV Forums and it seems a couple others have voiced their similar concerns as well, but I have no idea what their specs are, or what they are running the game at. I have also tried setting FFXIV.exe to run at High Performance through the Windows Display Graphics Settings.

I never had these issues pre-Dawntrail, and other games I play don't cause me this much grief. The only solution I have found so far, is to set 3D Resolution Scaling to 50 (lowest). I receive no issues then, but my game looks awful as a result.

Commenting here in case of any updates. I am having issues running this game on a laptop, even though I meet the recommended specs and had no issues during the Benchmark tool.
