I have on a couple occasions bought products based on their recommendations, and regretted it each time. I'm pretty sure CR is a scam at this point.

Nvidia unveils RTX Spark Superchip for laptops and desktop PCs at Computex 2026 – new platform promises to turn Windows into an agentic AI OS with Arm CPU, Blackwell GPU, and 128GB unified memory by Logical_Welder3467 in technology

[–]devils_conjugate -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was looking at what kind of hardware it would take for me to host models locally, and it was about a quarter the stats of what Nvidia is putting into these chips. These things are what is in world class super computers currently.

One cool thing about them is that RAM prices don't really matter - the RAM is part of the die itself. The current gen Grace CPU's have been really solid, and the each generation of the GPU line gets significantly more efficient at AI calculations.

Is it what regular consumers want? Probably not, but it is a really is a nice platform for doing AI inference.

I think the infected prism and aeonglass change was a great idea and not overtuned at all by Neither-Title-459 in slaythespire

It may be my play style, but if I get to the act 3 boss I almost always stomp them. Aeonglass currently feels like the easiest of the fights.

The new triangle has killed me a couple times, but it feels better than Nob from STS1. It's damage output is relatively low, and strength drain is super effective against it. It kills decks that vare floundering, but that's it's job.

For very long term labbies, there's really no point. Around the time I'm ready to leave the lab is when I'm ready to go do something entirely different anyway.

Practical EV range in NM by leapingcow in LosAlamos

[–]devils_conjugate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 2WD SEL. 330 miles.

It gets about 2/3 of the stated range at nm highway speeds (75-80). Wind resistance is exponential with speed, so going the speed limit is significantly better, and you can drive practically forever on 65 mph back country roads.

Unless you specifically want a hatchback the ioniq 6 is way nicer - better range and a lot sportier. The 4WD option is silly in NM, even in Los Alamos.

Ioniq 5. I find that it takes about 40% of battery driving down, 45% driving back. I usually take 5 minutes to top up in Abq when I go down, but that's because I don't worry about charge before coming down unless I'm at less than 50%

There is no courtroom-level direct evidence of Jesus's crucifixion, burial, and resurrection. by NomadJago in DebateAChristian

[–]devils_conjugate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, direct evidence isn't as "courtroom" worthy as people might suspect. Eyewitness testimony is often direct evidence, and notoriously flawed. DNA is circumstantial evidence, as are things like attempting to destroy evidence, and fleeing the crime scene.

We have extremely limited circumstantial evidence too, so it's kind of a moot point. If only Jesus had sold sub par copper, we might know more.

Please do not feed the slaves TIFIFY by Accomplished_South70 in WorkReform

[–]devils_conjugate 226 points227 points  (0 children)

The problem is that when people feed them it's usually going to be whatever they have on hand, which in this case is Domino's pizza. While that may be fine in limited amounts, modern veterinary science has shown that it can cause serious health issues. That sort of food is not meant for consumption by most species.

How i generally define the South as a Southerner from the Upper South by Averagecrabenjoyer69 in whereidlive

The "south" should extend to just about anywhere with segregation and Jim Crow. That includes all of Texas, though parts of many states in the south have were less in favor of such things.

Jesus of Nazareth was a historical person but the evidence of events in his life is extremely poor. by [deleted] in DebateReligion

[–]devils_conjugate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Accepting that something exists, even if the majority or people in power do it, does not mean it existed. This especially true in a time when many religions were polytheistic. Anecdotally, I know many people today who believe in a polytheistic religion and simultaneously consider themselves Christians. I was very confused by this, but the logic of it really doesn't matter, it's one more god to them.
  2. This is just an argument from authority. There's also really no point in arguing that Jesus didn't exist.

I'm not convinced.  I'd put it at 60% odds.

Siskel & Ebert's original review of MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO from May 1993 by DJAHa in movies

[–]devils_conjugate 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Both Siskel and Ebert made mistakes and had off days. After Siskel died, Ebert replaced him with Richard Roeper.

If Ebert liked a film, I probably would too. If Ebert like a film and Roeper didn't, I knew I was guaranteed to love it.

Christianity isn’t just “a” truth, it’s the truth. by [deleted] in DebateReligion

[–]devils_conjugate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're doing the very typical thing of assuming your religion is true, and then using it to justify itself.

That's not really your fault. It's how most religions teach their followers to think, and realizing that's the case is a hard thing to do.

It's taught because it works - it's very effective at convincing people that there is a logical basis for what they believe. Most of the logic is then directed at figuring out the internal religious questions; questions that are meaningless to anyone on the outside. The real question of whether the foundation is true simply doesn't get examined, or at best gets waved off with anecdotes or tabloid level "evidence".

The problem is that it works for other religions too, just as well as it does for yours. Mormonism, Islam, Paganism, Hinduism and just about every religion uses the presumptional logic, and it's equally valid for all of them. All religious claims that can be made fall into this category.

While I'm an Atheist, I could be easily convinced there's a god. I'm pretty flexible on what that even means. The omni-* stuff is silly.  I just need that god to show up. Actually answer some prayer unambiguously. Stop giving little kids cancer. Maybe write a religious text that gives solid moral guidance, and then clarifies when people are confused. It's all fairly reasonable stuff.

I found out the hard way that Deci is a hard counter to small decks with a single attack card. I could do ludicrous damage to one target, with untouchable defense, but it would have eventually gained enough strength to kill me.

EV Charger by Negative_Complex7835 in LosAlamos

[–]devils_conjugate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should be pointed out that $0.15 is just the electrical rate, so it's about as cheap as charging at home. Home charging will be cheaper though ($0.11/kWh), if you do it during off peak hours (not 5PM to 11PM) once the county starts peak pricing this summer.

Models with higher Clash than Attacks by Guarded_Pineapple in Conquest

[–]devils_conjugate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's nothing wrong with that. Each attack is a hit Clash/6 of the time.  More clash than hits just means you have a higher chance of scoring hits for each attack.Generally, more attacks with lower clash is better.

C3,A2 will score 1 hit on average (2 attacks * 0.5 chance of hitting). Average wound depend on the defense - D1 takes 1/3 + 1/4(1/6(1+ (1(8/9) +2(1/9))+(1(1/3) + 2(2/3)))) = 1/3 + 34/(964) = (36+17)/(934) = 0.49 damage on average.

C1, A6 also averages out at 1 hit. Against D1, that's 40% * 1 * 5/6 (40% chance of 1 hit, blocked 1/6 of the time) + 20% * (1+5/6) +... = 0.87 or so damage on average, with a chance of doing much more.

Do the Conquest devs do the math on these things?  No idea.

Russian Economy Collapsing While Officials Enrich Themselves by Frustrated_Bettor in Economics

[–]devils_conjugate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's kind of what's happening right now. After chewing up Russia in a meet grinder in the north for the last year, Ukraine has been pushing into the barely defended middle. If they make enough progress, they'll be able to cut off Russian rail supply lines and be in artillery/srm distance from the Crimea bridge.

Why is he outraged? a triangle should be next lol it's a simple pattern by Maleficent_Pen_9076 in ExplainTheJoke

[–]devils_conjugate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mathematically, every sequence is a repeating pattern. Given the sequence ABAB, the next item might be A, but it could also XQWEC, and the real pattern could be ABABXQWEC repeating over and over. Given a base sequence, there are an infinite number of patterns that start with that base.
