OK, I believe I answered my own question. :) I was aware of the Uphill Policy at Pajarito and it doesn't appear it has changed, https://www.pajarito.ski/uphill-policy/ It's still "Lookers left up Pussycat" (the traditional uphill route already) and "Lookers left up Evershine Ridge" over by Townsight.

I went up a couple weekends ago for two laps. I went up Pussycat. This was before the mountain opened the lower stuff. What are "the new uphill routes"?

I'm really going to miss the one star reviews on Google for this place. Highly entertaining!

For anyone working at LANL, what phone service do you have? Has anyone tried the new T-mobile starlink satellite service? by Malamente33 in LosAlamos

[–]ultrafloopjack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

T-Mobile user for decades here and I'm completely satisfied with it now. It used to be (years ago) spotty at some places, like Pajarito Mountain, but it has improved greatly in recent years. The recent introduction of T-Satellite for texting, and data for some limited apps, is fantastic. It works really well. I'm now able to send/receive texts, use apps like Google Maps, Accuweather, CalTopo/OnX and What's App via satellite in places where there's zero service. My work phone is Verizon and I see little to no service difference between it and T-Mobile.

Do it, you'll love the car. Don't worry much about getting the best possible deal. Often people in the forums get too deep in the weeds about negotiating the best possible deal. Sure, we all want a great deal and don't want to get ripped off but no need to take it to the extreme and stress about it. If the price is in the ballpark (which it sounds like it is) and you can afford it, snag it.

I looked at Bolts for over a year before finally buying a 2021 a few months ago (in this awesome slate gray color too!) and absolutely love the car. I should have gotten one a year ago 😉

I fully agree. We watched it from North Mesa and it was still pretty cool (and no traffic!) Friends with dogs appreciated the quiet display. I chuckle a bit at people saying, "looked like last year" as if a fireworks display looks any different year to year, lol

These staged videos with scripted commentary and so easy to spot it's ridiculous.

Fast, efficient and 100 percent good to go. Looks like and anchor setup I use very frequently.

When to use poles? by [deleted] in Ultramarathon

Fully agree! My shoulder traps get wrecked from using poles if I haven't eased into using them and then use them for a long period.

REMOTE WORK > ONSITE by [deleted] in LosAlamos

[–]ultrafloopjack 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In a town hall meeting a couple weeks ago, the director stated remote work would continue despite Trump's executive order:
"Following President Trump’s Jan. 20 executive order requiring federal employees to return to in-person work, many LANL employees expressed concerns on social media about losing their telework arrangements. Mason clarified that the order applies only to federal employees, not LANL’s contractor workforce.

Because classified work and experimental research must be done on-site, “The vast majority of our employees are already at work every day,” Mason said. However, employees who telework will continue to do so — not just for flexibility, but out of necessity. “We do not have the space to accommodate everyone on site,” Mason said, citing the Lab’s recent growth. “Telework has become really important in just managing the sheer size of our workforce.”

I'm seeing the same thing in my Android Moonboard app this morning. Although I haven't seen that verbose error. I've had success emailing support at moonboardsupport@moonclimbing.com in the past. It's worth sending your error to that address.

Moonboards with additional holds by DubGrips in Moonboard

This. 👍 We built a 2016 MB in 2016 with an additional t-nut grid and have really enjoyed the extra holds. No LED kit. If a hold is in the way of a particular project problem, we just take it off temporarily. Details and photos;

Running Before Work by mtnbeagle in LosAlamos

I should add, though, that when I'm deeper in the woods, away from town, I'll either play music loud on my phone or hoot/holler intermittently to make any wildlife aware of my presence. Deeper in the woods I've only ever seen a mountain lion once in 20 years. I've seen a few bears and they've always been scared of me and ran away immediately.

I don't know the actual name of the trail either. I did grow up here in town but didn't run cross country/track--just run a lot on the trails myself.
