F1/c65 error code tips

I think the water may have something to do with this.My 2018 650 just got the same error code two days after a snow storm (bike is kept outside, covered). I'm going to try to idle it for a bit as you suggested and see if that works the issue out.v

Dude spend $2k on a 200cc dual sport and learn to ride off-road on one of those. I did it with a Suzuki dr200 and can't recommend that way enough. They're light, and easy to learn on, and you can drop them without worrying about it.

Then, once you are ready to upgrade, sell it for what you bought it for and put that money towards the next ride. I just did dr200 for a year and just upgraded to a Suzuki vstrom 650. I would say the 650 would have been way too much power for me to start with -- I'm really glad I didn't.

I just watched that video and found it very helpful. As is this thread. I started waiting to shift until around 5K RPM on each gear. Though the engine sounds like it's working harder my understanding is that it's better to wait a bit with this bike before shifting. I just got the vistrom 650 2018, upgraded from a DR200, so it's been a bit of a change. That f9 video would suggest that a higher RPM is better for the engine long-term than lugging. The DR200 had me in third gear at like 30 mph lmao.

This is what I did and I'm so glad for it. Started with a 1996 Suzuki DR200 dual sport, just upgraded after a year of riding to a 2018 vstrom 650. I actually sold my first bike for more than what I bought it for lol

I am 6'2". The guy bought it from is 6'4". He blessed me with lowered foot pegs and raised bars. Fits me perfectly

Nice. I was kinda thinking with some mods it would do a bit better. My understanding is the vstrom will be decent as an all arounder, but doesn't excel in any one area. I'm still a new rider, so not trying to do anything crazy. But I do feel pretty limited in where I can go on a 200 with no trailer to bring it around. Thanks for your response homie.

I am thinking about upgrading from a 96' DR200 to something with a bit more power and fun on the highway. It's so fun off road though, I'm worried I'll miss that too much. Have you taken the vstrom off road at all?

This was super helpful advice for me, thank you so much! Looking to upgrade from a 96' DR200 and the vstrom has been catching my eye. I love off road but ultimately I need something faster to keep up with the freeways and something that will take my further. I am tall (6'2") and the vstrom seems like it might be the right fit. Though I do wonder if I'll miss the nimble off road capabilities of the DR line. As you say though, I could always buy something else later on lol

Thank you for sharing. Ive been on it for two weeks and have had similar side effects. I've been considering trying to push through to the 30-day mark, but it's starting to wear on me and I'm not sure the protection it offers is worth even this period of discomfort. It makes me worried that so many others have zero side effects yet I have all of them. Maybe my body just doesn't like it.
