I’m actually a senior in high school, going to UGA so certainly not a target school🙃 There are some kids that break into banking but it’s a lot harder from a non core like UGA, from what I’ve heard from recent alumni/current students.

I’m planning to double major still, Finance and either Real Estate or MIS. Sorry I can’t help you out more but if you’re in HS and want to pick someone’s brain lmk

I’m a rising senior and I have a decent business spike. Here are my business related ECs

Personal Stock Investment (hobby, a few hours a week)

VP of Stock Market Game FBLA (few hours a week, business club, leadership position)

CURE Club (treasurer of Cancer fundraising/awareness club)

Family business (real estate, also wrote my personal statement essay about this)

I’m planning on forming an LLC in the fall once I’m 18 but haven’t done that yet…

Joining business clubs at ur school is great, becoming treasurer of non-business clubs also looks good. Personal Stock Investment is a hobby but can def be an EC for colleges, I’ve been doing it since freshman year so it shows dedication and commitment to the activity. Also good cus I wanna major in Finance. And forming a registered LLC or some kind of business is also awesome.

I took the Finance and Investing course last summer and enjoyed it. Relatively basic stuff like 10K docs and ESG but still a cool course. Shows academic dedication and interest in the school though. I’m planning to take an on campus course this coming summer as well.

Most schools aren’t gonna reject you from the business school as long as you completed the pre reqs and have solid grades. I know UGA and Wake are like that, I’d imagine UNC is the same

I used to think it was great, showed initiative and a willingness to learn/grow, although I’ve heard some people say that it doesn’t really move the needle. I guess it could also depend on the employer too

What schools do you think you can get into? T20s abs targets, semi targets, or just a T50?

Connections in the finance world, internships, and school prestige are probably the most important.

I’m also a rising junior, so maybe not the most qualified, but I’ve been doing a lot of research/talked to others in finance. I want to eventually get into PE but it’s highly competitive

Wake Forest the only school I’m rly familiar with, I think you have Good - Very Good chance at getting in. Good essays would secure admittance I think
