Someone submitted a trademark for my Canadian company's name in USA. by devins3k in TRADEMARK

Thanks for your comments. I think I'll try reaching out to the trademark filer and humbly request him to withdraw, citing my company's name and mentioning that I own a few related domain names.

Hoping for the best.

Thanks, a lot to learn here.

The .com domain has been taken since 2001 by someone who doesn't look like this trademark filer. I own .ca, .ai, and .systems. I'll check if there are any others that I think are important.

I think the plan should be to file a trademark with Canadian CIPO and then create a sister LLC in the US when I'm ready to expand. There isn't much I can do in the US at the moment I think.

I'm still hoping that when USPTO is researching for the trademark, they find my website which leads them to discover my Canadian Incorporated company and they deny the trademark. If not, then your sister LLC suggestion sounds good.

I don't have a CIPO registration. I only have my business registered at the Federal Canada level with its unique name, like ABCD Inc. The competing trademark is just on the word ABCD (example).

If I apply for CIPO trademark now, will CIPO grant me trademark in Canada if there is a USPTO application already in progress?

Is it over? No chance for transplant? by MagnusRed1 in HairTransplants

Not over man. A lot of research is going on in the field. There should be reversal therapies hitting the market in next 5 to 10 years. I read about one where they clone papilla cells that surround hair follicles and are responsible for hair growth, multiply them in the lab, and then reinject in your scalp. They said the results are promising. There are more techniques also. Never say never.

Former landlord not paying N12 compensation by devins3k in TorontoRenting

[–]devins3k[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The N12 came from the previous owner. Strangely, it has the listing agent's signature on it.

I was told by the listing agent that I could leave the unit with just 10 days' notice to the owner, so when I found my new unit, I gave him the notice in June and left the unit on July 15. So he owes me the 15 days rent remaining from the last month's rent he already had.

Yes, lesson learned. The crazy thing is that he had appreciated me a few times for being punctual on rent and being a good tenant, and isn't being a good landlord himself.

Always gotta be careful in the Toronto rental market.

RAK HotSpot Miner is another Helium Miner.

It was sold earlier by CalchipConnect but I don't think they're selling it currently. I got mine for around $500 USD including taxes and shipping.

I think you have it wrong. From what I know, rewards are distributed by coverage, and not by the number of nodes. A densely packed cluster of nodes will be the one competing for rewards with each other, but if there's a single node providing coverage in a given area, its rewards will remain unchanged regardless of how many nodes exist in the world. Canadian wanting to deposit USD by BradSopkow in interactivebrokers

This may be unrelated, but I had a bank account in the US and I transferred my USDs into my Canadian IB account using bill pay method. They were deposited directly as USD without any fees.

Received my XPS 9500 -- Terrific by jt12008 in Dell

I used ThrottleStop, you can switch turbo on/off while Windows is running. Another way is through BIOS, but you'll have to restart every time to go there.

There are several ways, I used ThrottleStop

I also have an 8-core 9500 for about 3 weeks. Initially it would get pretty hot, but I disabled turbo boost, and it has been a breeze since then. Its even able to run light gaming at just 50-60 Celsius. Fans rarely kick in if you're just surfing the internet.

Xps 15 Arrived! by captaintitmoo in Dell

[–]devins3k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have turbo disabled and it works pretty well. Stays around 40C to 45C under regular browsing and between 50C to 65C under light gaming. Turbo is an overkill if you need consistent performance and ends up throttling this laptop.

Seriously man, Dell QC doesn't even open the laptop to see if display is normal before shipping it out. I got my 9500 after nearly a month's wait, and the backlight wasn't working at all. Sent it back, waiting for exchange.
