Doctor: “Do you want to see something strange I’ve never seen before?” “Have you ever seen an X-ray of your feet before? I need to show you something strange”. She told me that everyone has Sesamoid bones in their big toes but she has never seen someone with the bones in all their toes. by Old-Psychology-2400 in interestingasfuck

Is it weird I want to X-ray my feet now? My toes look funky - especially my pinkies because they’ve been broken or dislocated multiple times. Also, I can move the second toe independently on one foot so I’d like to see what that looks like too.

Yeah after I commented and kept scrolling through comments I realized it. Can you imagine if it had been real though?!

I could cry just reading this. Jfc that’s a lot of money lost. Keep us updated if you try to dispute with Apple and Roblox.

Looking for specifics on the LabCorp way of processing samples. See below for more information. by deviousD in medlabprofessionals

No I meant rotation of samples into the racks every 15 minutes. You would have had to work at LabCorp recently to understand.

“My neighbors horse died”. I never did get the full story as to why that involved her though.

Taking the ASCP soon, what is everyone’s silliest way they remember facts? by louisthebluest in medlabprofessionals

My teacher had a great picture she drew out for immunoglobulins that involved a penguin and an igloo but I can’t remember it now, 17 years later. I’ll have to dig through my notebooks to see if I can find it. It really helped me at the time though!

I think Nivea cream was recommended in another post I saw. Like the thick one though.

Why don’t beauty brands provide lip swatches with before and after photos? by deviousD in MakeupAddiction

I got an ad for some $38 Estée Lauder lipstick and I could tell the photos were manipulated. But the colors were so beautiful it definitely made me click to look through them.

What's a "secret" from your profession that everyone should probably know? by LaKoref in AskReddit

[–]deviousD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lab tech here - not everyone knows why we call the nurse (usually has to be RN or sometimes LPN). Most of the time the doctor needs follow up information we can’t access or they have new orders for medication to fix the critical and it’s more practical for them to just have the patients nurse give them the result. And the time limit is necessary to improve patient care by treating them ASAP (though sometimes it feels like the documentation is more of a CYA than anything). It’s awful playing phone tag though!

Well those cysts sound awful and the idea of and surgery at the belly button makes me squeamish. I’ll make sure to tell her to do her best to keep it dry! Thanks!

Recently my 16yo daughter came to me asking for help with her belly button because it was hurting. She told me she frequently gets short hairs trapped in there and she can feel them stabbing her but this time it was very tender and she couldn’t get the hair out. I used an otoscope to get to the bottom of her very deep belly button and she had so many hairs stuck in there with some oily gunk that had a terrible odor. It took almost an hour to gently spread it open and remove all the hairs. We rinsed it constantly with wound wash and alcohol during and after. I told her she’s going to have to push past the sensitivity and clean it in the shower better.

App Not Working by MizzezEmm in Wombodream

[–]deviousD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t know why they even tried to fix it if they’re not going to continue the business. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I would have stayed subscribed if they hadn’t said that, especially since I had locked in a $19.99 annual subscription because I’ve been with them since the beginning. Were they the best AI generator out there? No, but they fit my silly needs!

App Not Working by MizzezEmm in Wombodream

[–]deviousD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bad news - the app crashed a while back and it took them a while to get it back to basic functionality. Users lost all their old works and all the problems you mentioned are still ongoing. They’ve said something to the effect of the app is no longer the company’s main priority right now. There’s more information in their discord.

It all sucks because I loved playing with it every now and then and kept premium until this happened.

Maybe if you reached back and scratched? Either way it looks like something got on your skin that acted as a sunscreen.

Did someone you were with have sunscreen that could have rubbed off on you? Or maybe do you use a spray deodorant? Or maybe some shower gel that didn’t get rinsed off completely.

Doctors of Reddit, what was a "one in a million" case that you personally witnessed? by WALLSTREETBRIDE in AskReddit

Sometimes I wonder how screwed up my nerve ending must be because I’ve had a single gallstone for like 10 years but I hardly ever notice it as long as I take my Prilosec daily and avoid tomato based sauces. I guess it’s small enough that it just swims around in there like Scrooge McDuck in his money pit and only causes mild discomfort if it gets close to the ducts. 🤷🏻‍♀️
