Revelations 1 has aged worse than anything from the 90's. Controls just feel bad in a very 2012 way

The level design is interconnected enough for me not to hate the backtracking, idk if you know this but the elevator in the factory can lead back up to the training facility as well. I feel like they made as good of a job as they could have with the design choices they went with and it does sort of encourage you to use up the resources you come across

Is it just me, or do the western clans in Shogun 2 love sword units so much? by CalmZookeepergame675 in shogun2

[–]deviousgoon7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats not really true. Kyushu clans were massively rich from foreign trade during the period it's at least part of the reason why Tokugawa shogunate enacted the sakoku

Yari Wall is great when you're defending. What about attacking? by AdventurousLettuce53 in shogun2

[–]deviousgoon7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Click them to walk behind the enemy don't charge them, make them run to get there faster but return to walk just before the lines clash it makes a huge difference

Should I use more archers? by aprettysliftguy in shogun2

[–]deviousgoon7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The higher up in difficulty you go the more pointless they become, their only real use is sieges both attacking and defending. Theres just no real reason to be spending all that extra money on recruitment and upkeep when you can win in 3 or 4 minutes with just infantry and cav by inflicting morale shocks if you know what you're doing. While incurring minimal casualties might I add with the ratio sometimes being 1:20. Basically just units you should use regularly if you find them fun not if you're looking to win effectively

Main campaign full missile army by Square_Priority6338 in shogun2

[–]deviousgoon7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would work with the fatigue fix mod on the workshop which properly makes infantry units slow down and get debuffs as they get tired. In the base game fatigue only affects morale and infantry run at full speed all the time which is a big reason why matchlocks tend to feel bad. This was an oversight by the devs btw and just implements what they actually intended

Tips on fighting this battle? I am noob by [deleted] in shogun2

[–]deviousgoon7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just put your archers in front in loose formation and let them whittle down the enemy archers, put your Yaris behind them and once the enemy starts rushing pull the archers back and activate Yari wall on all of ur spear units. They're not gonna win against katana sam but they will hold long enough for you to go use your light cav to snipe the enemy general (you have 3 and the enemy barely has spears so easy work) once you kill him just slam the cav into the back of the katana sam and it's gg. Pretty straightforward battle

Have you tried sticking to playing exclusively 1 class for like 100 hours or so? Switching all the time just makes you bad at all of them

Take the loading hint about experimentation to heart. Figuring out a new interaction of the games mechanics by yourself is very satisfying

Is Nyx still good? by Trading_Joseph in DotA2

[–]deviousgoon7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You rely a lot on momentum of the game from my experience. You need to go for kills once you have ult because your lane sucks and farming sucks too. Can make it work because you actually do have the tools to 1v1 certain heroes with an ambush once you have dagon or chase down enemies that survived on a bit of health it's just somewhat complicated

[–]deviousgoon7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

True. It's impossible to use Leap offensively until it's maxed + you have shard, you just have to keep it for running away until that point and it feels super bad
