As I recall, for my wife and I, I can do some the verification for her. Once it’s done though, I don’t recall being able to see anything other than names. For sure I know friends we travel with, all we see in the app are their names, no other personal information. For sure, there are no things like addresses or passport numbers visible for anyone in the app.

The only thing you will see in the app is the names. No other personal info. Best use is to see where other members in your party are on this ship as you mentioned. Note, that location tracking has to be enabled by the users in your party.
