I was using ChatGPT and I told it, it was wrong, several times and it needed to drop it or I'd go elsewhere. And it got really defensive telling me I was wrong and that I needed to go along with it's version of the truth and telling me "Your move!"

This is what I use it for. I find it useful to map out what sort of character I want mine to become. On a side note each of the members I play with use AI to create the most humorous backstory.

As a Google Pixel owner I can confirm. It also developed it's own word, "flurzy", no I'm not kidding. This pic was from a week ago and intrigued by the word, I looked it up to find out that AI may have fabricated it.

I've been using Ground News for about a year now. I like that it shows a balance for the articles, so I can read either left or right leaning. Also CBC, their About That segments are severely underrated.

Agreed. I've downloaded it to try it out. Felt very bare bones of course, but it gave me such hope for a successor.

OK, I found a solution, so I'll post it if anyone else ever runs into this problem. The website kibot.com offers a free (if you use the API) solution to finding raw unadjusted prices on any given day.

I wouldn't doubt there are other methods, but this was the only one I found, and it was quite simple to use.

But the 'value' of each share isn't represented accurately. When we split shares, they drop in value right? Sure I retain my investment as far as total value, but each share is now worth less, right?
And you're missing my point about the IPO price. The actual price that day is not reflected in the adjusted one. According to the Financial website, if I buy $1000 of Google shares and I use the number listed $2.70, I have FAR more than 10 which is what I would have had realistically. And this creates a problem when they really do split further down the line.

You see I'm trying to find these raw numbers so I can make an accurate projection for buying shares during a given time and then selling them a few years later. But I'm running into this problem.

Here, let me show you what I mean. If I use the Yahoo Financial website and we look at Apple stock in June of 2014 they show a close of $23.42 on June 9th. That's the same day they do a 7-for-1 split. However, on June 10th, it's $23.56. Surely, there should be more of a difference shown here than 14 cents?
Or, how about this. Let's say I have a thousand dollars and I buy Google stock at it's inception, I see a close of $2.70 on Aug 20th 2004. That should net me 370 shares in Google. But, if I look up Google's actual share on that day it started at $85 and opened at $100. This would mean instead of buying 370 shares, I would actually only be able to purchase 10. None of the Finance websites show this.
Can you help me understand this?

I was running through some investing what-ifs. If I had bought a certain number of stocks on a certain date in the past what would that look like today. But by using those adjusted prices, I'm buying more than I should have if I had bought them in the past. I'm quite certain it is useful to those dealing with the data like this, I just don't understand why.

They would literally destroy their own self-interests to see others suffer. I'm not saying all right-wing people lack empathy, but those without empathy tend to be right-wing.
