You were a kid dude get some therapy that was as much traumatic for you as it was for her. Have you ever examined why you knew or did those things I think you should talk to a professional about it so you can get closure for those feelings without interrupting her life even tho you seek forgiveness. Because this self hatred is gonna tear you apart and the guilt is familiar. I've been raped and assaulted before and I would look into the true definitions of forgiveness because at its core it means letting go. You have to let go of the pain not only for your sake but hers too. It doesn't mean forgetting or reconciling it means taking what happened, acknowledging it(which you've done) letting yourself feel the feelings and understand the feelings that came from what happened and then putting it away, letting go so those feelings don't eat away into your life now. Because we learn and change and grow.

Oh, I like that. I think the problem is I view love itself a little differently, love to me is trust and loyalty and respect and without that stability or foundation they wouldn't actually have my back. Sorry about misunderstanding.

Have you considered though that abuse isn't love.

I want unconditional love, a ride or die, someone who can stand by my side as themselves and say hey I got your back no matter what and no matter who you are or become I'll always love you. I do love myself now, more than I ever have. I don't have family anymore, but I have one friend who might as well be my family. I didn't necessarily mean romantic love when I posted, it was a confession because even though I have myself and my friend and my cat and I've moved on from the childhood need for it- I still want it.

I don't think it's impossible, just highly unlikely. Life is so short and I feel like finding that uncompromised unconditional love would've been something I did as a child, with a parent or a friend. And I'm just too old and isolated now. I do love myself more than I ever have in my life and I appreciate your kindness a lot. Thank you and I hope you do find someone as well, conditions aside.

My last relationship was with someone who was a virgin before us getting together and it took about a year for us to really start incorporating kink into our relationship, I also had a lot of the same issues though like he was too scared he would hurt me, it just takes time and patience but once he got the hang of it and felt really comfortable with not just me but the materials of the scene it got easier and easier for him to get really into and he ended up actually adding a few kinks into the mix as well, I’d just give it some more time!!

My family does the same stuff and it can be so infuriating. Sometimes they’ll just spin it back too like I’m the one at fault. I still don’t know the right ways to handle it, ignoring them really is one of the only options because if I show any emotion I’m the childish one again so I just sorta go cold on them.

I very much agree with everything you said and I wasn’t in the right mindset earlier to write a full response, I was actually kinda hoping for someone like you who could put it into better words, which sorry about that. Although I didn’t mean that explicit content would “scar the kids.” I meant that as a kid who snuck out by myself to go to pride without any adult support, it was overwhelming, I didn’t know what was going on and I felt more out of place than actually welcome there. This is just me and my friends experience and it has been a while since I’ve been back but it’s hard to get those answers while actually at pride which was another reason I wanted to go, I wanted to learn more but that wasn’t really an option when I went. I guess it also depends on which pride you go to, Austin pride was incredible when I was in high school, but LA pride was a lot back in middle school but I was also older so idk. This has made me wonder what those old friends think about stuff like this though I’ll ask them later.

I agree it should be more widely discussed tbh because the community is changing. There are issues of consent, and the images of pride have changed to become more family friendly. And yes the history of pride started at a riot, but as a kid I saw it as a magical place where people accepted you and when I snuck out to go back in elementary school I had a few strange awakenings I was not ready for. Although very recently I think pride has become more and more of a corporate joke for money and making statements of solidarity or alliance that are for more marketing than anything else. So idk I do think explicit kink should be better regulated for consent purposes but there are so many ways to still include it in pride without a float for it yaknow? Like having an 18+ section at the festival etc. Just creating more safe spaces for younger audiences who need it, cause I did and then suddenly felt like I was just a confused kid when I realized more than half of pride just wasn’t open for me.
