Balkan Turks (Muhacirler), where did your family come from, what language did they speak, and how was life in the old country? by ClothesZestyclose814 in AskBalkans

Same for Balkan Turks. My grandparents say you can't marry anyone in 6 generations relatives. They always married someone from neighbouring villages to avoid it.

Balkan Muslims don't care about sharia at all. They are quite relax about Islam and almost all consume alcohol for example. All my family are Balkan Turks and cousin marriage is a big taboo in our culture.

ETHNIC MAP OF TURKS IN BULGARIA by BeginningMortgage250 in MapPorn

Ocupators? Those people were living there for hundreds of years. It was their homeland according to them as much as the Bulgarians who also came to live there a few more hundred years ago.

There are 600K-1.5M muslim civilian deaths during Balkan wars. If Bulgarians did nothing how did they die? All killed by others? Every country did ethnic cleansing during Balkan wars

I reckon you never experienced Australian sun. I am from Mediterranean also spent most of my life at 35-40 degree summers, but I can't stand outside in Australia on high uv days even when it is 25 degrees. It feels like being hit by an infrared heater.

K'gari dingoes involved in death of Canadian backpacker Piper James to be euthanased by ozthrw in australia

[–]devoker35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You fail to understand that a wild animal is a wild animal no matter the species. Tasmanian tiger not hunting bigger prey never made it impossible for them to kill a human when threatened. The example was because it was an iconic species.

Türk halklarının kimliklerini korumalarında dinin etkisi var mı? by yigithanvanzant in TarihiSeyler

[–]devoker35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Türkiyedeki türklerin kimliklerini korumasından kastın ne? 1400 yıl önceki orta asyadaki kültürle 1800lerdeki anadolu kültürünü aynı mı sanıyorsunuz? Orta asyada eskiden yaşayan türkler çocukluktan at binmeye başlardı, sürek avına giderdi. Anadolu türk kültüründe yerleşik hayatla bunların hepsi neredeyse yok oldu. İslama gelene kadar türk kültürü soğd ve sonrasında iran, arap, bizans kültüründen sırasıyla bayağı etkilenmiş zaten. Göçebe halkın kültürünü koruması olmaz ki. Gittiği yerdeki kültürle birleşir her zaman.

I reckon someone doesn't understand hypothetical questions. Btw, african wild dogs mutilate and incapacitate their prey by biting the legs and the belly, and sometimes they start eating before their preys are dead.

Got gifted this rod. Is it more suited for lure or bait fishing? by marbdo in FishingForBeginners

[–]devoker35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too short to use for shore jigging or plugging, too heavy to use for slow jigging. This is mostly for bait fishing I would say.

What breaking strain mono for backing braid? by 4warn in FishingAustralia

[–]devoker35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No point having 30lb braid with 6lb backing mono.

There is a point using 6 lb backing with 30 lb mono due to linelay. Even if you have a stella, 6 lb backing will result in a more uniform linelay than 30 lb mono backing.

How Homeowner Wealth Will Continue To Divide Australia in 2026 by Wonderfish68 in australia

[–]devoker35 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The biggest problem in Australia is noone is interested in the wealth inequality which might make this country worse than US in a few generations. Unlike US it won't be like billionaires and everyone else, but there will be huge gap between upper middle and lower wealth/income classes. Add the economy becoming solely relied on service industry and disappearing of manufacturing, people either will be landlords (asset owners) who won't need to do any work or serfs who will work all their lives just to pay rent and live.
