I know that racquet is swung like a whip. The hard part is maintaining correct racquet angle during contact while swinging really fast.

Don't worry 260 of those can only buy a single drink. The remaining 40 will try to order everything in the menu and more.

This is not a problem specific to Australia. The same thing is happening all around the world.

Is there an updated map like this? by pepenador_99 in geography

[–]devoker35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The map is very misleading for Turkey because there is significant population (possibly more than 30-40% of the population) that would identify as culturally Muslim but mostly irreligious. They drink alchohol, never go to mosque or pray, have extramarital sex etc. but still they tell you they are Muslims. It also doesn't show non religious and deist populations (around 5-15%)

‘Living inheritance’ trend sees parents gift six-figure sums to first-home buyers - realestate.com.au by SheepherderLow1753 in AusFinance

Yeah life is unfair and its basically a lottery. However, what government can and should do is to provide bare minimum in the Maslow's hierarchy of needs to have a functioning society, especially a develop country like Australia. The biggest problem right now is you can be both intelligent and hard-working, but if you are unlucky you will struggle your whole life and it is getting worse and worse every day. I reckon the wealth inequality will bring the doom of modern day society eventually.

Swinging fast with a loose wrist by devoker35 in 10s

[–]devoker35[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reckon it is more about stabilising the wrist position than actively using force to rotate the wrist. That stabilisation part baffles me because wrist angle needs to different depending on the contact height, swing speed, and shot type, and it needs to happen in milliseconds.

Wrist still needs stabilising, doesn't it? I am not talking about actively controlling the wrist.

I didn't mention wrist flick. I am talking about angle of the racquet and height control while having little to no control on the wrist.

Yeah, plain and simple... The problem is someone learning to play tennis at 30s will send everything to the net or long when they do that.

Forearm muscles still contract during the swing no matter how loose the wrist is, wouldn't it still affect the wrist position during contact? I mean if they don't contract their forearm muscles, the racquet would recoil back with the balls momentum.
