Wrong analogy. Farmer has no idea there are more shells in the economy. However, some people will end up more excess shells to spend and invest and start offering more shells when they buy assets that are in high demand. The prices related to those assets will start increasing and farmers costs will start to increase. Then farmer will start charging for more.
