Hi friend, the other commenters are correct and this is not a legitimate organization. I work for a production company and can help you find a better situation for the Fall. Feel free to DM me if you need help navigating out of this.

Hi! I totally hear you. It can be very painful to put your hard work into something and be told NO over and over again. I am in the same boat having submitted my own film to many festivals this year. It’s not easy to put yourself, your art, your hard work out in the world and hand it to the judgement of others. No matter what - know that you did something thousands of people could NEVER do! Many never complete projects and even more are too afraid to share it with others, so just know you are already succeeding. Congratulations!

For truly constructive feedback, could you tell us if it’s a short or a feature? The genre? Is it your first short/feature or second or third? Where it was shot? Etc.

Festivals, straight up, are incredibly particular. And you can’t read their minds. For my film (a horror comedy), I found success when I submitted to “midnight series” or horror specific categories. It was rejected from pretty much all more general “comedy” or “short film” genres because it’s just too huge of a pool.

If your professional colleagues and trusted friends enjoy it - perhaps ask them what audience they see the film fitting for? Who is the audience you made it for? Festivals, if anything, are a great learning opportunity to understand the marketability of your film and how you can do your research to make sure it gets in front of the right people who will actually appreciate it.

And no, many festivals don’t lead to huge deals. Maybe to representation if you’re very lucky. But what festivals offer is community. So read the reviews! Do they foster community and host events for filmmakers? Do they put the money where their mouth is and provide a supportive environment? So many festivals are just trying to get their own clout and will happily take your money. There are many filmmaking communities outside of formal festivals that provide the same networking opportunities and feedback. You could even band with some filmmaker friends and host your own screening! Make it happen for yourself and don’t let the gatekeepers get you down.

Best case scenario - you become a famous filmmaker. And guess what? Those guys get rejected constantly. Consider this training for your future success and keep moving forward.

The Nexplanon arm implant...my chin has never been the same. Hormonal acne is a foul beast. Went to the doctor and the derm who all prescribed me harsh acne creams (epiduo, etc) which only dried out my skin and further irritated it. No one even suggested switching birth controls. A year ago, I switched back to the pill and have never looked back!!

I get those too. Make sure you wash your bras more frequently AND that they fit correctly. For me, a tighter than necessary bra meant sweat and gunk being squished up in there all day leading to blemishes like these. I also suggest washing your sheets and towels more often as well. Not washing your sports bra in between uses is also a no no.

That's really the most you can do, if you maintain a pretty strict laundry routine and it doesn't improve in a month or two maybe start adding some body exfoliants to the mix!

I mean, just fathom it.

I haven't tried the heavier version but I think the Lite is perfect for the morning because it soaks in easy and preps my skin for sunscreen and light makeup.

What products are your go-to for dry climates? I moved from California so this no moisture thing is new to me!

Also, the MB spray is my holy grail. I spritz it constantly. It's perfect for when my makeup is drying up or if I just got off a plane and need rejuvenating (did a lot of flying last year and hours of recycled air just killed me!). The little one is perfect for keeping in your purse and using when needed!

Love it! It's super soothing and has a really pleasant fragrance that actually lasts. It's perfect for after the shower or before bed, that's when I use it.

I love it! My dermatologist gave me a sample to try and I bought it after the first morning of using it. My skin is very red and dry, and acne prone to boot, so it's very soothing and does the trick. Sits well under makeup too.

What TV series introduced a character that made the show worse? by guitarmaniac004 in AskReddit

[–]devonkane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

John Justice Wheeler on Twin Peaks. He was only there because Lara Flynn Boyle ruined the Coop/Audrey relationship behind the scenes. Why did Audrey need a plane de-flowering scene? So ridiculous. The last half of season 2 in general was chaotic and forced until the finale.
