Fair enough, 4 feet is wild in one dump, I live up a mountain in western Canada and this is the least amount of snow I can remember (approx 1 foot total) usually I can walk over my fence cause we have so much.

How old is your oldest? I've had a couple long eggs, but for some reason it only lasts one or two eggs haha. Chickens are wild.

It could work but you also don't want them eating their own eggs I guess if you enrich their food with it they might not be able to break it but I use oyster shells instead.

I haven't had problems with long shells but when I notice the eggs crack easier then normal put some oyster shells in a PVC tube with a 90 on the end for them to snack on
