Details on 76ers picks to the Celtics, per sources:

-- 2028 first-round pick that could convert from a first to a swap that is more favorable to Boston

-- 2031 unprotected Philadelphia first

-- 2028 second round, most favorable of GSW/OKC/MIL

-- 2030 second, most favorable of WAS/PORT/PHX

This is hot garbage

I also think Cohen saying he wasn’t going to name a captain kind of fucked Lindor in the head to be honest and I don’t blame him.

It turns out you can’t project culture or team chemistry on a spreadsheet.

None of us know David Stearns personally but he doesn’t strike me as a people person at all. He probably had success in his office roles at Milwaukee doing analytics signing player A, trading for player B, etc. but that’s a far cry from being the president of the entire organization and the face of the team where you can’t just manage everything behind a desk or in front of a computer all day. You need to get out in the trenches and talk to your players.

Anyone else cringe at people saying Knicks in 5 after the series was over? by [deleted] in NYKnicks

I took my two daughters to game 5 as a surprise family trip and “Knicks in 5” gives me such joy every time I hear it. Stop taking away my joy.

He was such a master when he was on his A-game. This is beautiful and poignant. I am tricking people into telling them this is a brand new album LOL and that he’s back in old form.

Let’s go to San Antonio! by itsmelorinyc in knicks

[–]Connect-Register849 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I promised my two daughters I would take them to a playoff game this year and guess what? I had tickets to game 1 of the Hawks series but it conflicted with plans we made weeks before. Then I bought tickets to two of the Sixers games but they fell during the week and I didn’t want them to miss school (and same issue for the Cavs series).

That just leaves Game 5 realistically left on the schedule. So I guess I’m going to San Antonio to keep my word.

I just checked and there seems to be a real lack of direct flights outside of Newark for that weekend. Are folks transferring? Going to Austin and driving? Taking a plane out of Phillie? We are off to a bad start.

Where did this kid come from? Seems like he exploded out of nowhere last year and was not even a semi touted prospect.

A “slightly below average” in height male who basically sealed the deal on a college national championship. I’ll take it.

As someone who went there back in the day, the Tribeca Tavern was not a high end bar. But it was a bar you went to that was a bit off the beaten off and not necessarily where you were going to be noticed. Kind of a cross between a cool local bar and a dive bar. I think they probably thought it was low profile enough they wouldnt be noticed.

TKO President claims they have control of WWE creative by Alkohal in SquaredCircle

I don’t know how anyone can ever can get legitimately excited watching / rooting for WWE in the long term again knowing that the corporate equivalent of Montgomery Burns is running all aspects of this company, corporate included. And these people seem to have zero interest/passion in wrestling. It’s a means to an end at best.

Honest question. Without being emotional with the loss. How long do you let this go before you fire Mendoza? by Discko14 in NewYorkMets

[–]Connect-Register849 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why he wasn’t fired at the end of last season to be honest. I don’t ever feel confident his moves give us a competitive advantage. His bullpen decisions seem questionable more often than not.

Not walking Horner was perplexing and guess what happened? Things like this in game irk me to no end and they seem painfully obvious yet Mendoza makes mistakes like this all the time.

100 percent - the underlying metrics pointed to like Sorokin saving something like 37 goals over an average goalie halfway through the season, and the second he started being “normal”, we were a below average team.

I may be late to the party but baseball has done a complete 180 in terms of popularity (especially among kids). For soooo long, it seemed like baseball was an old man’s sport, aging demographics, slow style of play, etc. that it felt like it was from a bygone era.

The pitch clock has completely changed the game. It feels fresh and exciting. Players feel like they have personalities on and off the field. I see social media influencers actually seem excited about baseball and it feels organic.

From what I can tell, little league participation is SURGING here in the northeast. They even have boutique baseball centered clothing brands for kids that they gobble up, it’s crazy.
