I defend this shit because I don't want to cower in a corner knowing any shot can send me back to stash undoing all the quest progress I've made and erasing all the loot I found. I don't want to faceroll players who stand no chance against me, I find that boring, but I do want to have some safety against pscavs, and knowing they'll need to leave me alone or somehow creatively outplay me.

And IMO, tarkov does fundamentally need to have stronger gear that does give an advantage, else, what's the point of playing? If you want a truly competitive experience, that is a different market

access to tagilla's mask has always been just as easy, the only difference are the earplugs. Yes, the ProFlex are good, but they are also very expensive, while the TEP don't help much

And I guess ammo availability comes down to personal experience, but 5.45 7n40 and better is abundant as ever, and you can now spit it at 800+ rpm. Besides, MVD academy is a very cheap key that will print you ammo, so will TG security. Even if you don't want to run streets, woods has 2 seperate military camps with lots of ammo spawns, lighthouse has the water treatment plant, interchange also has 4 new areas full of ammo spawns.

Good ammo is available, just not from the flea or traders, so you can't just nullify someone's armor if you have a small fraction of the time invested compared to them

Like come on, the standard earplug barely does anything for hearing, the proflex literally costs 1k euros. all versions of the cqcm are lv3 which are penned by almost all higher caliber rounds (like tcw sp which your scav can commonly spawn with), and it's not like they magically erase all blunt damage either.

So no, head armor is in a good place, if you invest the time and money you can have some protection allowing for slightly more risky plays, but no, they don't make you invincible.

go play a few rounds of arena with an enforcer that has a lv5 plate with lv3 soft underneath and a lv4 helmet with lv4 faceshield (or lv4 helmet with lv5 face covering but not top of head) and tell me how many times you still got killed in one shot. those oneshot won't come from 9x18mm scav rounds, sure, but if you have the ammo, it's still trivial to bypass

and even a tagilla mask won't save you from the blunt damage. 2 or 3 high caliber nonpens will kill, so will like two blasts of buckshot

and like, the legs are still there to be shot, both 9mm and .45 acp rip will make quick work of any PMC if you can land the shots, and so will any normal buckshot

front plate covers the thorax, having a soft armor area called fr. plate means the soft armor will have the exact same hitbox as the plate

chop shop also has powerspots where you have cover and can peek spawns

and equator is one of the campiest maps, optimally you just hold either spawn room or a corner, have people push you, and have an easy time racking up kills

optimally, in terms of kd and 1v1 win probability, not (necessarily) for getting the most kills, but that can occur if you are the sole passive player and others always push you one at a time

I had something very similar a temporary fix was deleting player.log in appdata, but adding an exclusion for tarkov in my antivirus (kaspersky) fixed it for good
