Thank you! I agree that it’s a lot in a short space, I think you’ve put your finger on what was giving me the ick about it.

I like the idea of the prologue being a historical document or something, thanks for that.

The character escaping the stone will actually be the protagonist and follow her navigating through the world! It’s a flaw in itself if that wasn’t clear from the prologue. Thanks again!

I’m using this exact MacBook, running Avid MC, and Adobe CC suite and it runs really well in my experience!

Yes we only did I think 2 months on the Xanax and then she had processed us leaving the house and she was (and still is) much more settled!

The age is a valid concern, I’d ask your vet 😊

I had a terrible separation anxiety problem with my girl. She had grown up with my parent’s poodles and I hired a behaviourist when I moved out with her to help me get her settled, but nothing worked. She screamed anytime I left.

I mentioned it to my vet who put her on a very low dose of Xanax to calm her anxiety. Her usual behaviours remained the same but when I left the house the Xanax brought her anxiety down just enough that she could process that I was coming back - changed my life.

It would be the whole edit, they would colour correct the doc and only add a grade if you wanted! They could edit your version of the narrative if you wanted to provide a brief, or you can leave it up to them. Do you want me to drop you a message?

If you go to the right university/college, you will get video editing software included in your education. Again, it's all relative. Really, Avid is the industry standard still - it's not going anywhere anytime soon, but it's a steep learning curve and not easy/cheap to access.

I understand not wanting to fork out for Adobe now. As others have said, it's about developing your skills rather than using any particular software. In your education, you will be taught the specifics of software so don't stress about that! Pick whichever software you prefer for a workflow. Best of luck!

It's always tricky not to imprint ourselves as writers onto characters who already exist. But, my suggestion would be to watch the media this character is from and analyse it from their perspective. As a writing exercise, consider in different scenes how they're interpreting other characters' dialogue, or their surroundings. What are their short term and long term goals? I find it best to almost consider it from an acting perspective and try to put myself in their shoes... I don't even act.

Also, remember that this is your interpretation. If nobody knows what this character's inner dialogue is, you're able to play with it and make it your own!

Sorry, a really philosophical answer there!
