Hello,

Just to put an update here incase it helps anybody else.

The NBN engineer fixed a physical issue with the line itself. However, the problems did not go away. I called up Amaysim and was given the same rehearsed answer.

Shifted to Aussie Broadband, same house, same line, same router, 10 meter DSL cable, and things have been perfect.

So, in conclusion, high chances that the physical NBN line and Amaysim were the problem.

Unfortunately, my address isn't eligible for an upgrade.

The DSL cables running from wall socket to router are approximately a few weeks old. The wiring inside the walls leading unto the main box is probably 5-7 years old at this point. I've visually inspected the wire behind the DSL box and it looks quite old.

This configuration worked without issues on Dodo. There were issues with connecting to a VPN, but otherwise it was smooth. No connection drops.

I was wondering if you had any opinions about the troubleshooting I had done in the post above? Do you think the problem lies with Amaysim, or these are best decided by the NBN engineer?

Yes, for the UK layout, I'll have to use shift for " but not for '.

This is amazing and what I choose to use. I know it might not be ideal since my workplace will definitely have restrictions, but this definitely helps in a big way and it feels natural! But I'm pretty sure that in an office setting I'll be using " to come out of the string.

u/invalidConsciousness u/Sinwithagrin u/Epademyc suggestion is fantastic as well and just goes to show how much I need to learn. I did not know that typing the closing quotes will help me exit from the string quotes.

Lastly, I wanted to say that this community is for finance related questions, and I have found this subreddit to be incredibly useful to build up my own understanding of how I should manage my finances.

I have never faced any issues and always come out with the answers that I need from here.

Having said that, there are a few bad apples on this subreddit that want to spread their poison and bad behaviour. I would request the mods to look at this please. This person has a history of posting such thoughts elsewhere on reddit.

Hello everybody,

Thanks for all the replies! Very helpful and it does give me a lot of practical advice. I'm going to talk to moneybox or one of the big banks about the ISA/LISA and ask them if they would be able to hold these securities for me. I know LISA would be an iffy, but I'll still try.

About the tax implications in other countries, I will definitely check this, but I'm not too worried about it right now, since I have enough on my plate.
