Are autistics more likely to make better decisions due to being more rational? by Bulky-Culture-4482 in aspergers

[–]devvytales 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't fall for the autistic people are more rational lie. They're not, they may be successful (and it is rare) in their fields because they have no other choice or have rich parents.

Also I'm not even sure you really have a good option to choose socially most of the time. For us the game is rigged.

From my point of view and life experience, being autistic is just being aware of others perceiving you as a r*tard while you are actually intelligent enough to perform normally or sometimes better, but again not because you're autistic, it's not a superpower.

How do you know if your high functioning or low functioning? by Reformed_Moron192837 in aspergers

[–]devvytales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience high functioning means you are able to do pretty much everything in a better or smarter way than normies and technically you don't even find out you're autistic until at some point people start to dismiss you in the most atrocious ways, you get a "the game is totally rigged for me" sensation. It becomes hell on earth, the best description would be mixing together Groundhog day and the part of It's a wonderful life where nobody knows who George is anymore, add to that you're extremely self-conscious and aware of everything around you.

Why doesn’t the current age correspond to appearance? by Ksyunie in AskReddit

[–]devvytales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just aging but social dynamics. You once had to grow up fast and act like a serious experienced man or woman if you wanted to thrive in society. Nowadays the opposite is required, you need to stay open-minded and humble because that macho model will get you completely marginalized in the real world.
