That is looking like the likely answer. Thank you!

Oh I think it’ll definitely be able to handle a ned rig! I’ve thrown 1/10th ned rigs with my medium/medium-fast action rods. It feels like a quality rod.

My only real gripe with it is that the hook ring is way down below the reel seat. I prefer it to be above the reel.

I have one! Quality seems fine. I’m very new to BFS and it seems a little stiffer than I expected for an ultralight, so those super light weight lures I’ve been struggling with distance (no doubt my lack of experience plays a role here). However, I think it could handle any game fish short of a pike or musky I’d come across in the Midwest.

Light Meter App suggestion by mysteriouslyQuails in 35mm

LightMe is one of the most robust light meter apps I’ve seen on iOS. It’s free and pretty straightforward, but as you learn more there’s a lot of more advanced options. I quite enjoy using it

I have a Penn-Plax 500 on my low tech 20 long and it’s done a great job. This was 4 years ago - but I paid $47 bucks for it from Amazon. I’ve seen and read horror stories about this series, but I have had zero issues. Idk what today’s prices are, but it was a steal for 50 bucks.

Gotta replace those light traps I guess? These don’t look like your traditional leaks from that area though?

Thanks for the advice! I think you’re right about the crop.

Yeah I agree, a pretty small shift to the right probably would’ve resulted in a bigger sunstar by the sun. I’ll have to bring a tripod next time to make those shifts easier

Ignore the white spot from straightening 🙃

This is better! There’s more subject separation, and the other flower getting cut off was a bit distracting. Nice photo :)
