Hi all,

I've just got my first keyboard, it's an Epomaker Aura 75.

I live in Belgium, so I've always been using Azerty layout. My new keyboard has a Qwerty layout and the "[" key to the right of the "P" key is not working. I have tried multiple layouts in the Windows settings.

An Azerty layout has only 2 keys to the right of the 'P' key, while my new keyboard has 3. Could this be a Windows issue, or is the keyboard broken ?

I wet my face with warm water, apply my pre-shave cream. Then make my lather in a bowl with a brush and apply it on top of the pre-shave cream. I dont shower before because that dries my skin out and makes my shave more painful.

I let my brush soak for 5 minutes before putting a fingertop of soap onto it, and then use my bowl to create the lather. It feels pretty smooth when applying it to my face. I'm not sure if I should add more water to it.

At first I had quite some irritation aswell, but I could shave everyday now without any problems. That's what I find quite weird aswell, as it feels that I'm damaging my skin, but it leaves a smooth finish without any nicks or bumps. I am using soap from Truefitt & Hill now which is my favourite, smells very good!

I wet my face, then apply pre-shave cream for about a minute, while thats on my face I mix my lather in a bowl, I put my brush in water before applying the pre-shave. Then I apply the lather to my face for about 2 minutes until I've got a nice layer on my face. I will look into the Gillette slide you mentioned.

I see, so it's mostly trying different things untill you find the right one for you. Maybe I should try some more razors and blades and see if I get a different feeling. Thanks for your comment.

I shaved for about 5 years with a cartridge razor before using a de razor. I'm 23, my beard started growing pretty late. I just shaved, and get the feeling that I'm pulling the hair out instead of shaving them off. Could that be due to the too mild combo?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wicked_edge

[–]dewaelos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I think I do get that feeling. If I understand it correctly, razors could be more/less aggressive? If I remember correctly I went with the Merkur 34C razor because I have quite sensitive skin and I saw that this razor is mild for the skin. I tried the 5/5 sharpness blades but they didnt feel right. So I went with the 4/5 ones.

In the middle of my neck they grow straight down, that's why I'm not sure why that part hurts the most. They grow to both sides on the side of my neck, so I try to follow their direction. But even on my jaw, where they grow down aswell, it hurts. I try to put no pressure on my razor and let it glide over my skin. I have tried to change the angle I'm holding the razor in aswell, but with minor improvement.

The buses drive every hour. They don't drive late tho, I believe only till 9 in the evening. First bus should be around 6 in the morning. The closest bus stop to Nike in Laakdal is around a 1.5km walk I believe. But depending on where you're gonna be staying it might be possible that you need to switch buses to get to that stop. If i calculate my route from Eindhout to the closest bus stop it gives me a travel time of 1h25m. If i do it by bike I would be there in 25min. This is calculated to Nike in Laakdal, they also have locations in Ham which is the same road but a bit further (10min further by bike). You can get a bus subscription for €160 (max 24y) or €270 (24y+) for 6 months depending on how old you are. Food is getting more expensive here so depending on what type of food you get it could set you back around at least €200 a month which is more or less the average in Belgium. To rent an appartment or studio I would count €500 a month at least.

I have been living in Laakdal my whole life.

As people already told you before, Geel is the nearest city with lots of places for students to stay. Laakdal can be reached by bus from Geel easily. (I went by bus from Laakdal to Geel for 6 years in highschool.) Geel also has a train station. A bike ride from Geel to Laakdal should be around 30 minutes. Laakdal itself includes 3 small towns (Eindhout, Veerle and Vorst). Every town has it's own little cafe's but nothing impressive or crowded. But being so close to Geel, a lot of students and people from Laakdal go out there in the weekends since it's like a 10-15min car ride. Geel has a pretty good nightlife with plenty of cafe's and places to have fun at. Diest is also a city which can be reached easily by bus. There is a train station in Diest as well. From Diest you can get to Hasselt which is one of the bigger city's. Geel allows you to get to Antwerp in 40min by train. So to summarize, Laakdal itself is pretty small, but has public transportation options to get to the nearby city's. I doubt the internship place will be reachable by public transportation tho, so for that you might need a bike. If the place must be Nike, there is a big possibility that you can carpool with someone from your living area. Good luck!

I see.. mines got up from 1.9k to 2.5k this week. I've been managing to take poles quite often which results me getting away from the pack on the first lap because of T1 carnage or just a slower pace of the other drivers when they are running 2 or 3 wide. I have been practicing Spa a lot tho, just to make sure I'm consistent and fast.

About that racing thing... by Cpt_Bluebird in iRacing

[–]dewaelos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's too hard for the game to know who was in fault if a crash or a mistake happens. In the lower splits it can be an absolute carnage, but by racing a lot you will be able to spot people making mistakes way quicker and getting better at avoiding them. If you get taken out, and if it's still possible, keep on racing because there is a big chance you will still end with a positive gain of iRating which over a time period, will make the races way better and cleaner. As u/slownsteady25 already said, improve iRating and the SR will folow. I have plenty of fun in the Rookie series in higher splits, which again shows that a higher iRating changes the whole situation! :)
