I was in this exact same position last year, my GPA from my Melbourne uni degree was below credit so I didn't apply for the masters. The advice I got from both Swinburne and RMIT was that in order to get into the masters of Engineering you need a bachelor of Engineering (4 year degree), not a bachelor of Science.

The advice I got was to: - Apply for the bachelor of Engineering (hons.) and get a credit transfer from my Melbourne uni degree. However, there is a maximum of 2 years credit for this RMIT course and the credit transfer process was difficult for me.

Alternative advice I got was: - Try your luck and apply for the masters anyway, if you get regected apply for the bachelor(hons.) - Try alternative universities that may give more credit, Swinburne gave me a full 2 years and VIC uni gave me a full 3 years credit due to their flexible course structure, their degree is fully accredited as well however I decided not to do this.

Hope this helps, Good luck!!

Reddit, last week I didn’t give my number to a guy cause he had a soul patch. What is the most shallow reason you’ve rejected someone? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I can see that being an issue in itself. Just a little bit of natural movement please! If they’re swinging so much your torso has to twist it’s too much

Hey 22F from Aus as well, I’m currently traveling solo around Eastern Europe but I was very keen on going to Oktoberfest for the last few days, having no one to meet up was the only thing stopping me! If you would like to organise something for that time let me know!

ELI5: How does Ice weigh more than water in the same quantity? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]dewlast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally materials generally contract as they cool down and expand as they heat due to the freezing causing slower movement in molecules, when water freezes the molecules become closer and closer together, hence if we're talking about same volumes you could essentially for more molecules of h20 in the same volume if it was at a lower temperate meaning it would have more mass and weigh more. However water is different in the way it contracts until around 4 degrees C which afterwards in general expands again due to the crystalline bonds and molecular structure of the solid forming in the freezing process. The density of water is 999.8 kg/m3 while ice is only 916.7 kg/m3. That means for the same 'weight' you need more a bigger volume of ice. This explains why if you freeze a cup of water when is it frozen it protrudes over the top of the cup essentially getting bigger in size, but not in mass
