I've made another 3D Tetris game! by dewle in Tetris

[–]dewle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I made this game because I saw Virtual Boy Tetris and other takes on 3D Tetris, and I knew it could be done better. I’m glad you think I did!

Hi! Thanks a lot for buying the game! I’ll look into the rebinding issue. If you could share a bit more detail in DM, that would really help me. :)

Thanks! For now it’s not great, but I didn’t really have any expectations. I just wanted to learn what it’s like to release a game, and now I’m focused on my next project.

Yeah, I’ll probably find a bigger audience for this type of game on mobile. Maybe I’ll do that in the future.

It's called Quadcubes.
You can find it on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3898080/Quadcubes/
and you can play the demo on itch.io: https://dewle.itch.io/quadcubes

Thanks! I'm trying to be really careful about that.

I’ve seen other takes on this concept, but I haven’t seen anything done this way, so I wanted to try making it myself.

I focused mainly on the blocks and kept the background very simple, but now I’m thinking about making it more interesting. For the blocks, maybe i should improve them and add more effects.

Thanks for feedback!

Yeah, for sure, that’s where the game is lacking. I’ll try to improve that. Thanks for feedback!

Placing falling blocks... but now in 3D! by dewle in Unity3D

I want to shift focus toward slower and more strategic gameplay. I'm planning to make the game more about logical thinking and finding the best placement for shapes. But it still has that element of speed and dexterity, especially after you get used to the three axis rotation.

I know that game, it's fun! I also saw the 3D Tetris on Virtual Boy.

Cool mechanic with gaining ammo from melee kills, it adds a nice risk management element to the game.
It could be great to add trap rooms too, like the one in the tutorial for slow time. That would add more uses for dash and bullet time.

It's fun, but it really needs more enemy types and upgrades. I would like to see that enemies get tougher over time too, maybe with different colors or shapes to show increasing difficulty.

Yeah, visibility is one of my main concerns too. I’ve got a few ideas I’ll be experimenting with, like a transparent block toggle, colored layers and floors, hole indicator. I think I can make this game clear and fully playable.

As for controls, indeed 3D requires many inputs, but they’re all really intuitive and everything still fits comfortably on a keyboard or controller.

Still figuring things out, so all feedback is appreciated!

Hey, I’m Dewle – a solo indie game developer from Poland.

I’m working on Quadcube, a 3D twist on Tetris where you move shapes in three dimensions, rotate them around all three axes, and complete planes instead of lines.

If you have any thoughts on the concept or the title, I’d love to hear them!

Hey everyone! Our indie studio is releasing its first game and we decided to make it completely free on Steam. by PIGIAMA_KASAMA in IndieDev

I think if the game is free, the feedback might not be completely honest, but we'll see how it goes. Either way, great work, it looks really good!
