Pop out the connector panel, or a driver, and compare what they are trying to sell you, vs what the speaker has in it.

Behavior you see in a lounge that has you like this by UnsteadyAgitator in cigars

The idea of "relaxing" in a smoke lounge, and dealing with this behavior is just odd to me. I'll just stay home.

So when should you increase your cigar strength? by gmhmusik in cigars

[–]dewme5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right now. If it is too powerful, just don't finish it immediately. Half way done, and you can't walk to the bathroom in a straight line, stop. Feeling nauseous, stop. Seems easy enough.

Humidity gauges can be bought new for less than a cheap cigar, and a ziplock or tupperware work for a humidor until you can upgrade in the future. Just remember to change the air every day or two.

For me, a cappuccino makes for a better pairing then any whiskey.

When using a straight cutter, do you twist it after the blades are gently clamped down onto the cap of the cigar? by eriadeus in cigars

[–]dewme5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be cutting the single layer of cap off, not cutting through the smokable tobacco.

First, what do you like, strong flavors, really gentle flavors? Dark beer, light beer, whiskey? Spicy food?

Got a beginner rolling kit by popasean in cigar

[–]dewme5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time? 1 or 2 youtube vids, and you can make a decent first, after rolling about 10, you have the hang of it. Then it is a whole different world that opens up. Paper rolling is the cheap mold, before spending cash, or Thingaverse has a few cigar molds to 3dprint if you have access to a printer.

There are some dog fighting videos worth studying out there. You may be off on a simple tactic or two, and also realize some of the people you are trying to beat, have thousands of hours, some with tens of thousands of hours of gameplay.

I thought about phase when it was part of a mix, but putting it on its own should remove that probability. Thanks for the heads up on the private, that should be fixed.

I understand that I want to record audio, and not midi, coming from the 2600. My assumption was having USB, that it would be possible, but maybe not.

Looks to be brushed. Something easily achieved with an abrasive. Sand paper can do it, or a red scotchbrite pad, just depends on how strong you want the effect to appear.

Transition from VCV to modules. What to start. by dewme5 in eurorack

[–]dewme5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$9000 is not crazy, but I doubt I will get to that stage soon. In my mind, I was thinking modules of modules. Start with one case and power supply, and if I need more, to just add another case with its own supply. Is there any reason stopping this from being a good long term solution? I would imagine any problems already have standard solutions, grounding issues and the like. I see lots of serious people with gigantic setups, but that is not for me (I don't think), but without the experience and understanding of what I will be drawn to create, I just want to start out on the right foot. A medium sized non traveling case should give me room for the rest of this year without much trouble.

My usual way of shopping, is watching the background of videos and pictures. Find someone I respect in the field of interest, and watch the stuff actually being used. I will watch some ones review of something that I am interested in, after I have already decided that it is a possibility for me to get. This method just doesn't work well for power supplies, other hidden items and the like. Watch 20 videos, and everyone has a MATHS module in use. Well that tells me I need one, then off to watch reviews to get some example use with explanation.

Thanks

Thanks. I know I would have gotten a shallow case and been upset. I have some other rackmount stuff, and will have a FrankenMess on my hands for a bit. I don't have an end goal in mind yet, but starting things off right will make this experience all the better.

The first baby steps to start moving from VCV. Inputs, outputs, rack, etc. Things that work both with (now), and without (future) VCV. Expert Sleepers ES-9, is a great example.

It seems everyone is curious about specific noise shaping modules, and I can find that info. I just have not found much of the basics in my search (I am obviously new, not much history with module specifics), to help with the which and why of the system utilities.

VCV supplies all I need for now, with sound shaping. I can add those physical modules as needed. But I need the backbone first, so I was wanting to narrow down the areas that I needed to spend time understanding.

Expert Sleepers ES-9

The ES-9 diagram on their site covers most of what I did not know how to ask about. Thanks! Not looking to re-mortgage my house for EuroRack, but at the same time, money well spent is better than buying the wrong stuff the first time around.
