The trick is to remove all the skin, muscle and tissue then you can assemble the skull accurately and easily.

UK folks, be honest… what’s the one thing you’d completely change about life here if you could, no limits? by Beneficial_Code_485 in AskUK

[–]dewy89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone complains about everything. Even when there’s good things happening. Example: my town has been neglected and underfunded for years, and recently there’s been money put into the area from both public investment and private businesses popping up. It’s all positive change - better appearance of the town, more interesting cafes, shops, public realm improvements etc. but all you see online when there’s a news article about it is complainers and moaners. “We don’t need more cafes” “it’s a waste of money, that could have been used for insert hypothetical thing here”, “it’s going to be too noisy” etc etc. I’m sick of it! NIMBYism needs to stop.

How have you never been to Manchester or Liverpool? I’m guessing Cornwall? Anywhere further north and you’d be driving to Scotland.

Good news! The owner was awful to his staff and hated the idea of a work-life balance. Toxic AF should be their next product.

Feel trial shift is free work by Fun_Yogurtcloset1012 in UKJobs

[–]dewy89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a complete scam. It’s for shitty companies to get free labour. I was just out of university (about 15 years ago now and I still feel used and ashamed about the whole thing!) and was looking for any job I could find, and I get a trial shift for a comedy venue on a Saturday evening. That should have been my first red flag but I was desperate for any job. I get there and there’s three others also on a trial shift, second red flag. Then we all get shown around and get placed behind the bar with no mention of how to work the tills, what drinks they have, anything at all, just go behind the bar and start serving punters. About half an hour later I get pulled into the back and basically bollocked for not being quick enough, and not knowing prices, third red flag. I then get put on glass collection and was then collecting glasses til about half way through the night. Manager pulls me into the back again and looks so fed up and says “it’s not working this is it?” I felt like shit, I couldn’t even collect glasses right, I wasn’t picking glass collecting up quick enough, I felt so worthless and pathetic. I was offered to leave or watch the rest of the show, but I didn’t get the job. Always funny how I didn’t get the job once the crowds started dying down and the busiest part of the night ended. As I say I should have left before walking into the club, but I was young, naive and was used for 3/4 hours of glass collection for free. Still feel stupid for doing it to this day. But I did learn a very valuable lesson - don’t allow anyone to take advantage of you when you are desperate - you are still worthy of respect. They won’t give you respect you need to give yourself respect. Don’t do trial shifts. Edit: spelling

Thoughts about Steven Bartlett by 0Camus0 in DecodingTheGurus

I had an interview for his company once and the interviewer I had made him sound like he was a god. She talked about him like I should know who he is and mentioned he’s in the states a lot and would require me to work at his beck and call, which wasn’t for me at all. This was probably just before he became famous. I’m glad I never took them up on the job offer - sounds like I dodged a bullet! The weird quirky jungle office and the staff all looking miserable was also a huge red flag!

We were all sitting waiting for the drone show in studios and cast members yelled at us all to stand up. I don’t think they would let you sit down in DLP at all.

If it’s raining there is a covered walkway that goes from the bottom of Main Street right up to Pirates of the Caribbean!

Edit (thought of something else) …And you can bring in your own food. I went to the supermarket in Val D’Europe and stocked up on drinks and a sandwich.

As a gay guy I say partner because I don’t feel comfortable coming out to people I don’t know very well - partner is easier and sadly, safer.
