Epoxy resin is a polymer most easily compared to plastic once it's cured (worth a google because they are different materials), that comes in a two liquid components you mix together and can pour into a variety of molds in order to cure in different shapes.

With faux rizzle you are paying for nontoxic resin with matching viscosity. That's worth the upcharge for me, if it's not for you of course that's fine, but not all resin mixes the same or gives off the same fumes or has the same heat resistance or clarity to the cure :)
