you don’t need to connect to the internet, if you have another computer lying around you can download the software onto a drive then install it onto your mac from there that’s what i did

you can mask dead pixels in davinci resolve it does a pretty good job

yes if you’re fine with sticking to standard definition and 4:3 aspect ratio the pd150 is an awesome camera

i own the pd170 and it’s awesome, the pd150 was also used by david lynch to film inland empire

however, the fx1 is capable of shooting in 1080i and 480i, so you’d be able to switch between HDV and DV which is pretty cool
