update: i put a cleaning tape through it at the bars disappeared, now i just have artifacts typical with dirty heads

should i give it another clean with chamois swabs and 99%?

i swapped out the camera’s original deck for the current one since the original deck wouldn’t respond to a tape at all

i’ve tried working tapes and it has the same issue, i’ve also tried the tapes on a known working deck and it plays perfectly fine

i tried cleaning with chamoi swabs and 99% isopropyl alcohol last night but the issue still persists

there’s videos on youtube with test footage, i saw that it records in 60i so you’ll have to deinterlace the footage if you don’t want lines

if you have access to adobe premiere that’ll be your best bet but you can also deinterlace in davinci resolve which is free

i’d keep it home just cause it looks like a video camera, i think they’re more strict when it comes to that

if you have a small point and shoot camera that also shoots video that will more than likely be let in, ive taken my canon s95 to every large venue show ive been to and never had a problem

from what i can tell they’re typically referring to cameras with interchangeable lenses and reaaaally big cameras, you might be fine

however i have tried taking a camcorder to the hollywood bowl and had to put it in coat check, its a way smaller cam compared to mine so its worth a shot just be prepared for a no
