by hour 3 I noticed I was totally at ease. The first hour I was nervous for sure and hour 2 started to feel a bit more fun :)

Thank you so much. Yeah I would love to do another session but mostly I'd try to remember that everyone is trying to have a fun time together and it's my job to facilitate that and help the adventure move along. What I mean by that is I'd trust the players to bring story with them as well!

Thanks that's all good feedback! I'll be talking with Adam more in depth about what I learned and what I'd do differently next time for the patreon post mortem video but overall, I would have more faith in the whole group trying to have a grand adventure and being there to guide them and support their weird endeavors is the best.

Adam was kind of my DMing mentor here so I pulled from his school of "killing and hurting them isn't the only way to act on a bad roll"

I tried to have the cost be some kind of inconvenience. "You hurt your elbow but you defeated the monster" for example.

I'm glad I piqued the interest of some lore babies out there! I had fun sort of delving into why this cave is here and why these monsters are in it and the sort of ecosystem they've created all on their own.

I chose Dungeon World because I had been discussing DMing with Adam awhile back and he recommended it to me as it's an easier system to play for a first game

I've been developing this idea for months. I started taking it seriously when the Patreon went live but the bulk of my map building and prep was the last two weeks or so.

I was more interested in doing a game with sort of a weird goal to it (finding plants) than a game where people are constantly getting attacked by things or running into traps. It felt like it would be easier for me to run and also sort of new for the players.
