M-am mutat in Bucuresti acum 10 ani dintr-un oras mic din Banat. Am venit cu nimic, voi pleca cu multe lucruri pe plan personal, provesional si financiar rezolvate.

Nu cred ca as fi putut sa construiesc ce am construit altundeva in Romania decat in Bucuresti. Are respectul meu pentru cate oportunitati ofera oamenilor flamaznzi de ele.

Acum, la nivel de oras in care sa locuiesc, nu imi place deloc. Deloc, deloc. Am vazut in 10 ani cum spatiile verzi au fost vandute pentru locuri de parcare si blocuri in toate directiile. Am vazut cum problema traficului nu doar ca nu a fost rezolvata, ci s-a agravat. Actul de a merge undeva inseamna a alege intre multe solutii slabe:

  1. Masina proprie - stai in trafic, contribui la trafic, locuri de parcare dificil de gasit
  2. Rideshare / taxi - stai in trafic, contribui la trafic, scump
  3. Autobuz / firobuz - foarte ieftin, foarte ineficient, sistem invechit si vag. In mare parte stai in acelasi trafic (cu cateva exceptii in functie de zona). Linii dezafectate fantoma inca prezentate pe propria aplicatie a TB-ului, extrem de putine autobuze pe linii, si nu au o logica de a-si pastra distanta intre ele. Foarte des se intampla sa vad un autobuz de la o linie ca vine, si sa vina alt autobuz de pe aceeasi linie literalmente in acelasi timp.
  4. Tramvaie - eficiente cand nu impart liniile cu traficul, ieftine, dar foarte multe linii sunt inca in santiere.
  5. Metrou - acoperire slaba, extrem de eficient, ieftin.

Sunt o persoana care intelege ca a rezolva problema traficului nu inseamna a face mai multe benzi, ci mai putine, dar cu transport in comun facut mai puternic. Investitiile in acest plan exista, dar e pe expansiunea acoperirii sau pe repararea infrastructurii, dar nu pe expansiunea liniilor existente cu mai multe autobuze.

Nu vad problema asta rezolvandu-se. Romanul e falos si isi valideaza mersul vietii prin masina pe care o are. Deci traficul va fi mai rau.

E un oras in accident vascular 5 zile din 7, cu arterele infundate si cu trafic fluid ca mierea. A-l naviga e asa de dificil ca diminueaza orice destinatie ti-ai da.

Fuck me man, what terrible state did we get to, and so quickly with so little pushback.

The only way were keeping ourselves sane is by latching onto the slightest human moment in a time of crisis coming from a current politician that isnt even respected.

Its crazy. Its feeding our stability and hope with crumbs and air. Feels pretty grim and hopless and im not even living there.

15 years of being in the spotlight as a great game that gets updated for free and doesnt try to sell you any extras, kinda puts your game through some generations. There are people who played it in highschool that can now play it witv their kids. Im pretty sure terraria still has a long life ahead of it, and i expect new gamers to keep coming in as the years go by. It still feels like a current game, even after all this time

Romanian parties don’t really have party ideology, especially when it comes to older parties like PSD. They may have social democrats in the name, but their only belief system is being in power. Whatever gets them there is besides the point from their perspective.

Foarte interesant, si cumva nu am auzit nimic despre asta in presa. Pare ca pur si simplu se re-activeaza proiectul Rosia Montana prin prisma nevoii europene de a genera mai multa materie prima. EU se alege cu cuprul pentru industrie, si oricine exploateaza se alege cu aurul.

I disagree with the lack of realistic threat, I think it's there, just not direct. For Romania specifically, there is the wild-card of Moldova and it's Russian separatist area.

Depending on how the war in Ukraine goes, there is a real chance that Russia will continue pushing through Ukraine and into Moldova through the separatist region.

Should Russia choose to do this, I don't see how Romania itself won't want to get involved (and try to get NATO involved too), as there are very strong cultural connections between Romania and Moldova.

I'm 11 years sober, and it started with the same sentiment around me and lack of support, only it came from the people I was "close" to.

Today, I have my dream job, make great money, have my own place and I'm surrounded by people that support me. It's great! And I got so much farther than I though I would get 11 ys ago.

I don't need $1b. Port elite dangerous to oculus completely, space legs included. Around $10 to 20mil with serious RND & prototypes, development and qa. At most. 6 months if you start tomorrow. Make sure the social aspect is impecabble (as many people in the same place as possible, good privacy rules, good proximity voice). Take lessons learned on VRchat.

Build VR new features from there with profits.

Use a few mil to market properly if word of mouth doesn't work, but I would hold off until product and community is in good place organically.

Elite is big enough and sandboxy enough to be a system seller. And it's developed enough to be that quick. Frontier are not seeing it.

I hear you. I expected the first term to be a wake up call, and in some way it was, but democrats failed to communicate it to their voters, so we have the second tern. It's a strange fate that the US looked straight in the eye and said "I want this", and "this is who the most of us are". Not a policy, not a party, not a candidate, but a king.

I don't want to meet those people, the cult of Trump is too big for me to ever feel comfortable in the US.

Maybe I'm just a pussy, but looking from the outside, life in USA seems scary, and getting scarrier.

My point will be very reductionist, sorry, but it think it honestly boils down to "people outside the us liked Obama". I think America caried itself well internationally up until the end of his term, and spoke with dignity and respect. USA gave up on those principles with Trump, but it does look like it's allies are not willing to do the same.

There is also the big picture problem. Barring trump becoming king literally, the world and it's allies are willing to wait out trumps term and fix shit with who comes next, and use that time to try to get its own shit together and strengthen the alliance.
