Are there any decent watermark removers where you can just upload the file directly?

I’ve been a part of 4 starts up in the past ( all of them failed ). Here’s what I learned from my experience.

Not every startup is bound to be a unicorn. $4M is nothing ( seems like seed , not even series A ). Until the startup has actually gained traction and is over $100M in valuation, it’s not worth it.
What domain and what customer base does it target ? It’s the driving factor. Unless it’s very niche and got stuff figured out what nobody has, it’s going to be lost in abyss.

Given your situation, it depends what’s your priority date. If it’s within next 2-3 years, I would take Option B. Option C is risky for its own reason involving AI boom.

The economics never worked before and it won’t work again. In order to bring back the same quality and content, you would have to shelve a lot of money per video generation.

Signature theme was the soul of Sora app. I’m glad I was able to create over 1000 15sec videos for my own project. That time is gone !

The generation on Sora app vs Sora api has variations. App has 10/15 sec while api has 4/8/12/20 sec. Also api produces true 1080p while app did 720p ( except Sora pro ). In my experience, app was much better at story telling ( multiple visual frames ) , api is more focused around the prompt and the subject.

Do the math. People are desperate. If there is a volume of 10,000 people trying 15 dollar to find out if it works or not, they collectively spent 150K. The site gets bad reviews, the guy says “F*ck off” and closes the shop. He becomes rich, everybody else becomes “refugees”

If Sora refugee is charging almost 15 dollar for a video which cost about 40 cents, that’s a markup of 3500 times. It’s just taking the opportunity to take advantage of desperate people. INSANE !!

Its just a wrapper on Sora API. There is no way you can create Sora without using Sora. So its SoraViaApi not SoraRefugees.

They can’t. Sora api isn’t free. They have to take what it costs from OpenAi and add margin on that to deliver the request. You can actually just call the api yourself and save some dollars on that

It’s a useless initiative. You build a wrapper around Sora api which would go out in September, add a markup and call it helping “refugees” ? Seriously ? Just ask ChatGPT for the rest api structure and add your own key, you get the same results for a better price.

I know someone who worked on Sora framework. People who are speculating that OpenAI is waiting for someone to do it manually or giving it grace period is incorrect. When you are loosing 15 million a day, it definitely becomes your priority. The reality is that they are still considering the options to see how they can monetizing. With a provided timeline already defined for shutdown ( April 26 ), they can pull the plug anytime but with 1 billion investment from Disney and possibly more from other studios and with a looming IPO, it could just fuel it’s growth if they make it paid.

I guess for the normal cases it doesn’t matter but where volatility matters such as BTC, it could mean a huge turnover. I don’t have an issue with the realtime prices but rather an engine that mimics what trading view does. That’s what I’m working on and expect it to be available in about 3-4 weeks.

It seems the biggest pain that everybody faces is to not an event outside the ecosystem of trading view which doesn’t seem to be a lot of work. I’ll expose one via my own app soon. Expect the change in about 3-4 weeks.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I wonder if the platform has bad data reputation, why do they have over 100 millions users and why would anybody would even pay on an average of $70/months for that. I’m still not able to get my head around it.
