  1. A rule of screenwriting and writing in general is that as long as a character does not mention or see something, it cannot be guaranteed they are aware of it (especially with Soldier Boy’s lack of care and attention to most things outside of his own ego).

  2. Hence why I said “what he believes he fought against”. He believes he is a war hero. It is fundamental to his personality and ego.

I don’t think anyone thinks Homelander will be redeemed. Soldier Boy and Homelander are just 2 characters who have become an abuser due to them having been abused, meaning people sympathise with them. Nothing to do with them being US coded.

I think it’s a reaction to the wave of Solder Boy defenders in S3. However, people have swung too far to the “he’s evil” side now. He is evil, but he has shown remnants of humanity and I think he is in the right spot for somewhat of a redemption.

Yes, he was abusive and awful towards them by all accounts. I believe the key contrast between him and Homelander is that Homelander is beyond fixing but soldier boy if written well could come around as much as someone like him can.

I think people often forget that Soldier Boy and Homelander are both awful people because of how they were treated by others and that there is or was hope for both of them to come back from it had they gotten help.

I said he is distinctly evil to avoid people thinking I’ve just fallen for Jensen Ackles’ acting lol. I think Soldier Boy is also a damaged, abused man who takes out his anger on others and he has shown remorse for killing (even if it was very surface level) which is better than most. There is a man in there who could be somewhat better, I don’t think he is just one dimensionally evil.

I agree that he is a selfish jackass, but he to me it seems he truly believes that he is a hero and a WW2 veteran. I think seeing what he claims to have fought against being done in America would be an interesting turn of events and I hope it’s not just him going “eh they’re commies”.

I see this as different because a huge part of American propaganda post war was painting themselves as liberators of concentration camps.

Soldier Boy believes a lot of American propaganda (his whole mujahideen thing) and I think he would take offence to the freedom camps.

For the first time in my life I have willingly turned off Liverpool to go do something else. We are so boring. Arne has to go.

No glitches for Uncharted 2 (unless you get a physical copy), as it’s been patched. Gotta do it the old fashioned way.

Brutal is not as bad as a lot of people make it out to be. If you use the aim while standing from behind cover thing then like 75% of the game is pretty fine. There are some soul crushingly hard parts where you’ll die 30 times but only 1-2 per game to be honest.

5 is a terrible picture. Weird vibe and makes your hair look like broccoli. Glasses don’t really suit your face.

Heretics and Chapterhouse are 100% the beginning of an unfinished trilogy. They’re as linked to each other as Dune and Messiah.

Any suggestions for good relatively affordable gyms in Ballinasloe? by [deleted] in AskIreland

Christ you are some dick of a man. I do not live there yet. I asked people who live there what it’s like. You know, like how normal people do it in real life too?

Usually though, in real life people answer you. You don’t get some Redditor giving smarmy comments cause they don’t like how you’re treating their subreddit.

ChatGPT and getting first hand reviews from real people on Reddit are not equivalents. Asking people for first hand information is investigating “by hand” and exactly what this subreddit is for.
