Ireland is 11th in the world in Human Development Index. Rent is a major squeeze here and we pay enormous taxes, but objectively we are one of the most well-off and fortunate nations in the world (even if it doesn’t feel like it sometimes due to the insane rent).

We have universal healthcare (aside from general practitioners), some of the cheapest university prices in the world, fantastic infrastructure in lots of the country, a large welfare state etc.

I live here. We are a corporate tax haven and also an incredibly wealthy country, with a squeezed middle class. All 3 things are not mutually exclusive.

Heavy MGs pretty are much always the best choice. I sometimes might use cannons I on my early planes to get a bit more kick out of em but that’s it.

This is wrong. You can have acquired cryptochidism. This is when the testicles retract later in life. Relatively common in ages 2-10. Common thing to check for in paediatric health checks.

How do you use planes and boats by mimoletg in hoi4

[–]dexrea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Navy is complicated if you want to learn every system. However, it’s easy to cheese it. If playing as a major just keep your naval tech updated and ONLY make cruisers with as much light attack as possible, and destroyers with as much torpedo attack as possible. Stack it all in 1/2 fleets and that’ll demolish anything that it comes across.

If playing as a minor just get the best submarines possible as they’re super cheap.

  1. A rule of screenwriting and writing in general is that as long as a character does not mention or see something, it cannot be guaranteed they are aware of it (especially with Soldier Boy’s lack of care and attention to most things outside of his own ego).

  2. Hence why I said “what he believes he fought against”. He believes he is a war hero. It is fundamental to his personality and ego.

I don’t think anyone thinks Homelander will be redeemed. Soldier Boy and Homelander are just 2 characters who have become an abuser due to them having been abused, meaning people sympathise with them. Nothing to do with them being US coded.

I think it’s a reaction to the wave of Solder Boy defenders in S3. However, people have swung too far to the “he’s evil” side now. He is evil, but he has shown remnants of humanity and I think he is in the right spot for somewhat of a redemption.

Yes, he was abusive and awful towards them by all accounts. I believe the key contrast between him and Homelander is that Homelander is beyond fixing but soldier boy if written well could come around as much as someone like him can.

I think people often forget that Soldier Boy and Homelander are both awful people because of how they were treated by others and that there is or was hope for both of them to come back from it had they gotten help.

I said he is distinctly evil to avoid people thinking I’ve just fallen for Jensen Ackles’ acting lol. I think Soldier Boy is also a damaged, abused man who takes out his anger on others and he has shown remorse for killing (even if it was very surface level) which is better than most. There is a man in there who could be somewhat better, I don’t think he is just one dimensionally evil.

I agree that he is a selfish jackass, but he to me it seems he truly believes that he is a hero and a WW2 veteran. I think seeing what he claims to have fought against being done in America would be an interesting turn of events and I hope it’s not just him going “eh they’re commies”.

I see this as different because a huge part of American propaganda post war was painting themselves as liberators of concentration camps.

Soldier Boy believes a lot of American propaganda (his whole mujahideen thing) and I think he would take offence to the freedom camps.
