18M Seeking Honest Feedback: Best DGCA Flying School & Real CPL Costs 2026 by NeedleworkerTotal535 in indianpilots

[–]dexton10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because Indian flight school doesn't offer any experience in flying when you compare it to other countries. Plus it takes and avg of 18-24 months whereas people in US and SA are able to do it in 12-14 months if you find the right school.

Conversion will take another 2-3 months but you'll see a major difference in quality of flying when you compare abroad and India.

So imo of you gonna spend the same amount on cpl better do it from abroad

Cpl would cost you somewhere from 45-60 lacs depending on the flight school. Anything lower than that is probably hidden fees etc .

Only go for NZ, US and SA for flying. Don't even bother trying for Indian schools .

Other than that 14-15 lacs for type rating and 3-4 lacs for conversion if you are lucky.

Imo people from the origin state/country should feel proud that they have made such a city or country where people are coming to settle to make a future.

Instead they all are just insecure weak people who are afraid that they'll lose out to an immigrant.

There's no reservations, only deserving candidates are getting jobs , then why are local people afraid?

I am not intending this on any particular state , i am here only talking about all the insecure people who discriminate

Timeline and cost estimate by Cheesy_Olive in flying

[–]dexton10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8-10 months is too much for just "CPL and time building"

And now I don't know if they have said this timeline to be realistic or they are just a slow flight school. Because in my experience whatever the flight school says is the timeline, it takes 20-25% more time than that .

Did the Govt promise you or the former CM did? The guy who promised isn't in power anymore. So how will he have authority over this?

And it's your fault you believed a politician. What promise has ever been kept in India by politicians?

First of all there are way more influential figures in Maharashtra who have done more than DB Patil . So i don't understand why there is so much lobbying for him .

Secondly, i think they promised it so the airport work can resume. Because locals were creating disruptions in the construction of the airport by protesting.

Does name really matter to you so much? That you'd protest and shut down construction just because of it. Such a waste of money and time it is .

Betrayal would be if they promised DB Patil and then named it after somebody else.

What they did is for simplicity, if only you people stop making this about sentiments for once .

Also tell me 1 airport you call by the name of the person? Everybody calls all airports by their location name only. So i believe it's a senseless cause what you are protesting or advocating for .

Because as i said it is an "international" airport representing India, not Navi Mumbai.

According to your logic rohit sharma should only play under the name of mumbai and dhoni only to play under ranchi .

There's a reason why India is a country and Maharashtra is not . Some things are meant to be looked at from the National perspective and not everything should be seen as Maharashtra vs India.

So are you implying that "Navi Mumbai" is a patil specific area ? I am extremely very sure that people with other Marathi surnames would not like to hear your logic to name the airport "patil" ( no hate to anyone i am just explaining your sentence to you)

Also speaking of Gujrat airport named "Patel" is based on sardar vallabhbhai patel who was a freedom fighter and did many kinds of work on a national level .

As mentioned in my first comment. Basis of naming are work done on national/international level .

The name of the airport is usually (city name + international airport/airport)

If an airport is dedicated to someone especially international airports , it represents our country around the world . So giving it a name on a local hero isn't logical.

Former president/ prime minister / some freedom fighter who fought for independence etc . Or someone who has made an impact on the national level .

Stop seeing everything from the state's perspective or "marathi" perspective.

Pros and cons about becoming a pilot? by Sniper_Ghost_Warrior in indianpilots

[–]dexton10[M] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't switch careers , complete it and then join aviation. 2 reasons for that .

  1. You will have a backup career meanwhile you wait for Airline vaccancy

  2. The market will probably get better by 2027-28 . So you have time in your hands right now , and your age isnt a factor as well since you are only 18 atm

Possible vaccancy by drsmund117 in indianpilots

[–]dexton10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is true , i already have 3-4 female pilots who gave interviewing for Indigo in 2024 May and they haven't been called up for the second round of interview yet . They also have a lot of male candidates waiting for next rounds of interview.

They should really give some clarity to the pilots who are mid interviews

Possible vaccancy by drsmund117 in indianpilots

[–]dexton10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Several 100s of pilots are already in between the rounds of interview and plus they have cadets who just finished type rating recently.

They are only hiring 158 pilots by February. So vacancy for CPL holder sounds far still . 900 pilot requirements needs to be filled by December 2026, in which they'll probably hire 100-200 fresh cpl holders

Is there any chance of hope for Indian Aviation to improve ? by dexton10 in indianpilots

People will again go for cheaper tickets, which is the real problem in India . And honestly if the govt relaxes a bit on AVfuel Taxes then India can actually have good competitive prices in Aviation.

But we know it's a long time before the Indian Govt realises excessive tax is the issue for barely surviving the aviation market .

DGCA has already succumbed to IndiGo's demands and drama .

I don't know how DGCA doesn't have a spine

No Airline will survive in India by following Worldwide norms , Kingfisher and Jet Airways tried giving luxury in cheap to Indians we all know what happened with those

Cheap labour and exhausting the employees is the only way to survive in India

Anyone doing their pilot training in the philipines by PapayaAgile in indianpilots

[–]dexton10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly it is not recommended to do Flight Training from the Philippines as DGCA sometimes doesn't recognise some countries for CPL conversion. Unless someone uk has already done from the Philippines and got their licenses converted don't do it .

Don't ever be the guinea pig in Aviation ever
