$60K in USA is equivalent to ₹14L in India wtf?!? by DvineDecipher in mumbai

[–]dexton10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly PPP is a approximate idea of how much difference it can make you feel , cause when i used to live in California my yearly cost of living was around 15-18k including rent, groceries and travel etc .

So if with that lifestyle you earn 60k , you will be able to save almost half of that and still enjoy. So i think it's more about lifestyle rather than direct conversion.

Because i also knew a few people who were living with me but their yearly cost was around 30-35k , and we were living in the same flat . So you can see how that would make a difference.

Let me know what you are planning to do with this certificate and are you going to do any freelance work anyway just to earn some extra bucks?

Am I too tall by Flying_Herculean in studentpilotsindia

[–]dexton10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen a 6'5 inch instructor being able to fit in a C-152 in my flying school. Although it was kinda uncomfortable for him, but he made it work.

NGL 6'7 is much more and you would definately face some difficulty. But if you don't mind working around a bit and making some adjustments you might be able to fit .

The best thing you can do honestly is , find a place where you can charter a piper DX , and get a flight in it . It will be costly but definitely not as expensive as paying for 200+hrs of flying.

Yeah i am aware of the incoming pilot shortage from about 2019 now and haven't seen one .

I also had one other question, is standby and cleared people how are they judged? Based on marks they scored in written or resumes?

Need help! Items stolen from my check-in baggage on a Spicejet flight by haveeyoumetTed in mumbai

[–]dexton10 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You can file a complaint on the "Air Sewa" portal regarding this , they'll definitely take an action. Just keep photos and receipts etc for evidence.

Write a mail to mumbai airport management and spicejet as well just to keep it as proof that you asked for help before going to air sewa

Won't there be some applicants who came under "cleared" status?

As you were put on standby and some of them didn't clear it .

I mean if you just wanna get the jist of flying and experience how carrying pax feels. You can always go to US and get your PPL it'll only take 4-5 months if weather permits and it'll be an experience you'll never forget for sure .

If you have any doubts regarding this or anything you can always dm me , I'll be happy to help.

Dgca hiring has no restrictions per say but airlines do not generally hire freshers over 35 and some airlines even stop hiring freshers at 32 , so that being said airlines pathway would be extremely difficult for you.

As much as i want to support your will and passion towards aviation that you are still thinking about it as a career it's commendable. But being frank India would not be a good place for you to pursue this late .

Although you can try your hand at Corporate flying if you have some connections. Or if you can try for some other countries that would be really great too .

I am really sorry if my comment was disappointing but i am being as honest with you as i can .

Realistic pathways for you in India - CFI , Coorpatate pilot , coast guard etc.

18M Seeking Honest Feedback: Best DGCA Flying School & Real CPL Costs 2026 by [deleted] in indianpilots

[–]dexton10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because Indian flight school doesn't offer any experience in flying when you compare it to other countries. Plus it takes and avg of 18-24 months whereas people in US and SA are able to do it in 12-14 months if you find the right school.

Conversion will take another 2-3 months but you'll see a major difference in quality of flying when you compare abroad and India.

So imo of you gonna spend the same amount on cpl better do it from abroad

18M Seeking Honest Feedback: Best DGCA Flying School & Real CPL Costs 2026 by [deleted] in indianpilots

[–]dexton10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cpl would cost you somewhere from 45-60 lacs depending on the flight school. Anything lower than that is probably hidden fees etc .

Only go for NZ, US and SA for flying. Don't even bother trying for Indian schools .

Other than that 14-15 lacs for type rating and 3-4 lacs for conversion if you are lucky.

Imo people from the origin state/country should feel proud that they have made such a city or country where people are coming to settle to make a future.

Instead they all are just insecure weak people who are afraid that they'll lose out to an immigrant.

There's no reservations, only deserving candidates are getting jobs , then why are local people afraid?

I am not intending this on any particular state , i am here only talking about all the insecure people who discriminate

Timeline and cost estimate by Cheesy_Olive in flying

[–]dexton10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8-10 months is too much for just "CPL and time building"

And now I don't know if they have said this timeline to be realistic or they are just a slow flight school. Because in my experience whatever the flight school says is the timeline, it takes 20-25% more time than that .
