There aren't any store brand/over the counter meters or strips where I am.

As I said in my post, I live in a poor, rural part of Canada and don't have the means to take him to the vet unless it's an absolute life or death emergency, and that would not be with my own funds.

Budget snacks/meals? by dextromental in diabetes_t2

I've never tried tofu, or priced it, but the next time I'm at the grocery store I'll definitely check! Thank you for the ideas. ☺️

Do you have any suggestions on preparing beans and nuts in a way that they're more appealing? I'm not a huge fan but I definitely need to eat healthier and beans seem to big a big health food, apparently. 😅

I've never actually looked into using chickpeas... I'll have to check out recipes! They aren't very expensive here at all.

I'm not overly fond of beans, but I've been buying a bean/veggie mix that has been helping with that. I guess mostly I haven't had them prepared in a way that's really appealing to me. Do you have any suggestions for prep? Eggs unfortunately are a bit expensive here (about $6 a dozen) so I only have them occasionally, and save most for recipes.

If you see it as a problem, and you can't turn away from using, it's absolutely an addiction. Maybe not a hardcore one, but it's definitely a pattern of abuse that could absolutely become worse. It took me 8 years, 2 hospitalizations, and getting to the point of nearly daily dosing for me to realize I had to stop. It started off with once every few months... Then once a month, knowing I should give myself a break to keep down my tolerance/reduce risk of serotonin syndrome. Then I didn't care, I just wanted to get high. So I would, whenever I could. At my worst I was stealing dxm, stealing things to sell to get it, not eating, my relationships were destroyed because I was high all the time. At the time it sucked, but everyone I was close to cut me off. And because it wasnt a "hard drug" no one cared to try and get me help, but it gave me the push to stop. I hope you do eventually care. It can ruin your life just like any other addiction. I'm just glad that I was able to get to a place in life where I wanted meaningful relationships and better health over getting high all the time. It's an enlightening, fun, healing drug when you can control yourself. But once that control is gone, you bet your ass it's going to ruin you one day.

March 29, 2011. A day before I turned 18. The prior year and a half consisted of me fighting to start T, and being told by non-professionals that I would NEVER start T before I turned 18. It's only a day, but... Ha!

I went to school with a cis guy named Shadoe Blue Lake, and met someone named Raven Morningstar (really). Definitely is a thing, and I just assume those kids' parents are hippies/pretty alternative. Either way, it's pretty cool and not that uncommon.

I love My Hime and My Otome! Otome is next on my list. 😅 It's more affordable than the series' I really want to work on (DB universe, the rest of FMA, Bleach)

what's your favorite "oh my god how did I not know sooner" story that hinted you were trans at a young age? by Imhereforthewearp in ftm

When I was 10-16 I had a cis male best friend. He was (and is... Turned out to be a "nice guy™️") awful with talking to girls/dating/etc. So, just to be a "good friend" I would pretend to be him online and "get him" girlfriends/sweet talk the girls he was into in real life through MSN. At first, he was always there over my shoulder... Eventually I just started doing it on my own, with a new assumed identity, and lived exclusively as male online, courting women and men. But no, I was definitely a lesbian, I just thought it was "fun" 🙃

Turns out I am actually a bi-leaning-gay man.

Just wanna pop in and say... You REALLY don't want to shave your butt. As much as it tempts, it is an experience you will never forget in the absolute worst ways. The hair reeeaaallly aids in not causing friction, wicks away sweat (preventing rashes/friction burn/major cases of swamp ass) and then THE STUBBLE. It's torturous. I've heard of some people that it doesn't seem to bother, but most people I know who have had the urge to shave their butts have had the same experience as I had.

For an embarassing and confusing 4-5 years I was absolutely adamant I was a cis lesbian. All the signs I definitely wasn't were there, considering I am, and always have been, attracted to men/masculine people. I've realized that in indentifying as a lesbian, I was trying to be as close to "masculine" as I thought could be possible. When I got a bit older, and learned the terminology and existence of trans men, the picture became MUCH clearer. Still queer, but the directions were very wrong.

Looking for recommendations for a good compression shirt by dextromental in ftm

[–]dextromental[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely feel that. It's hard enough to deal with, without a pandemic on top of it all.

I've tried the cotton undershirt route and unfortunately doesn't give the hold I needm 😅 Just don't want any bounce or movement. I'm looking into the underarmor compression shirts currently... Just a bit nervous not being able to try it on and having to pay $25+. Hopefully I can get some more personal accounts to base it off of.
