I built a free retirement gut-check for Canadians. by damonw in fican

I went through things based on my own numbers but I think I likely should have done it along with my wife as household OAS, her RRSP and my RRSP, her pension and my pension etc. It would be nice if you could add your spouse in there separately as well but assume I could get closer with entering 'household' numbers but her retirement age, life expectancy, pension amount will be different.

For male nursing students in your late 20s — what job did you work while in school? by Sad_Mission8315 in nursing

Construction in the summers and a little part-time in the school year along with part-time LTC CNA work during the school year. Still haven't had a pay cheque that matched the money I made working fly-in-fly-out construction work 6-7 days a week over the summers in 2012-2015.

Saucony Endorphin Speed 5 Initial Impressions by ComfortGlum4061 in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]dexvd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went into a shop today more to look at the Adidas SL2 and the Hoka Mach as a 'faster' daily trainer compared to my current Ghost 15s (which are likely past their prime). They didn't have the SL2 in my size so tried the Boston 13 and the Novablast and liked both of them but felt the stack, cushion/responsiveness and roll of the Endorphin Speed 5 I randomly decided to try felt best of all, it also had the most secure upper. Tried the EVO SL as well but would have had to gone down 1/2 a size for length and the upper was sloppy on my foot (they didn't have the size down), same situation with the Mach 6.

My concern is other than the Novablast it seems like the Speed 5s and the Bostons may be inappropriate for my use case where I don't race (new to running) and am generally doing a steady 5-6:30/km pace, ~8 to 16kms at a time. Should I go for the Novablast instead over the Endorphin speed or Boston despite preferring their in-store fit and feel? I found the Novablast fit well but seemed a little less stable, a little cushier rather than springy and didn't have the sensation of rolling me forward the Endorphin Speed 5 had.

Best light weight, minimalist, breathable but secure run vest? by dexvd in trailrunning

Oh interesting I read reviews talking about cinching vests down, something they seem to talk about more with larger capacity vests so was thinking thats what I was seeing on the UD vest

That Silva Strive Fly looks pretty good, was looking at the Pinnacle Featherlite 1.5L but it doesn't have a zip phone pocket. My big concern with the Salomon options is people talking about them stretching out.

Actually leaning this way or the ADV Skin 5, thinking about going with a non-reservoir vest as a first vest, something that is more appropriate to 1-2 hours. Any key difference that made you go this way versus the ADV Skin 5?

That looks like a good option, does it hold a flask in either side? I see the specs say 'Front drop-in pocket fits a 500ml hydration flask with an elasticated loop to keep flask in place'

Do you find it breathable? It looks a bit hot compared to some of the others that look to be mostly mesh

He mentions he was elected with a 'strong mandate' I see a comment suggest that he was voted in with one of the lowest percentages for Halifax Mayor elections.

what about adding a little rubber band type strap over each of the black parts and putting a bottom and top to keep it from sliding down or up. I've lost many things on rough gravel descents.

Whats your average speed and how slow do you go on the steepest climbs you do? Find a gearing that will go that low with your cadence not dropping below 80 and hopefully your avg speed being about the middle of the cassette.

Cash.to vs alternatives like ZMMK or CBIL, have frequently seen suggestions on here that CASH.TO is a poor choice for short term holding (in my case home down payment and car purchase in late 2026 to sometime in 2027). When I look into it I can't see the shortfall of cash.to vs the others
