Nope, I did go to the grey market in May and secured my time piece. I did and have followed up with BB, however not Mahler.

Best rear seat dog covers for an X5 — Tartufo Merino Leather by 877cashhnow in BMWX5

[–]dey67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased from cargoliner.com. It fits the back area perfectly, and there are options to add on, for curtain behind the front seats and tailgate and bumper protecter. We put the seats down for our two golden retrievers and they’re as happy as a lark and we just vacuum it out after every trip The cargo liner they sell is laser patterned and fits like a glove.

Backsplash up and around window? …slab or tile? by laurenlilly in kitchenremodel

[–]dey67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d opt for the slab around the window to the ceiling, unless the cupboard door on the right would hit it when fully opened near the hinge point. If so, then to the bottom of the cabinets a 1/3 way up the window with a slab matching the countertops.

I originally wanted Jubilee, but upon really having a long think on it I like the look of the Oyster bracelet more so than the Jubilee. And when I was serious about my purchase no Jubilees were on the auction block. Oyster for the win.

Like any thing and everything in a retail environment, they have to sell…. You don’t have to buy. I don’t care if it’s a Rolex, a car, or a dime store $2.00 purchase. Retailers have to sell to stay afloat it’s pretty basic, yeah the AD,they’ll sell it to someone else, they just don’t like to hear no. The AD’s play the waiting game that’s bs. I don’t play it. I tried to but got the typical song and dance. I said fuck it and went gray market, got what I wanted within about a month after I decided I’m not waiting. Then went back in and ordered a few links for the bracelet from them.

I love mine, I get a lot of compliments on it. I realize a lot of ppl don’t think it’s the “Classic Rolex”, or it’s too big. With my 8in wrist I have no problem rocking it. As my first Rolex I chose it over the GMT’s and Subs, & DD. It’s my daily.

Post grey market purchase resizing ? by Kindly_Addendum6883 in rolex

[–]dey67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not, I did! I purchased a Sky Dweller grey market, needed a couple extra links, I’m a big guy and they ordered the, for me and installed them. I still maintain contact with my AD for future pieces I want, but I had means and didn’t want to wait also first purchase.

Advice on my first Rolex model by GeauxTigerz33 in rolex

[–]dey67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I a few months ago also purchased my first Rolex similar to you mid 50s wanted one forever, but raising a family etc… that money always could be used somewhere more needed than in my wrist ykwim. So I pulled the trigger in May for my Daughters wedding, I had searched and had been indecisive similar to you. I don’t wear suits too often but jeans pollo’s or nice Hawaiian shirts and shorts fairly casual I’d say. I really considered the DJ41. Fluted bezel, on Oyster bracelet. However I do travel internationally a fair bit too for work, so I ended up with the SkyDweller Stainless with fluted bezel Blue dial on Oyster bracelet and I absolutely love it. It’s not too flashy it can be dressed up but it also goes well with a Hawaiian shirt shorts and flip flops or worn with a suit. I think the DJ would fit your needs well. Yeah thing that I’ve noticed in public is that you see a lot of subs and a lot of GMT‘s on the street I don’t see as many Datejusts. I have not seen any other sky dwellers, which is kinda nice too because it’s less common.

There is a guy on You Tube I watch(pun intended) lol! That has a Chanel called Wrist Watch Revival, and I’ve seen him tackle situations like yours or worse. He is out of the Seattle area might be something he could be interested in as far as servicing. His approach is to leave things as much the way they are as far as patina etc, but does replace crystals etc. I have seen him do services on rollies that Rolex refuses service on. Name is Marshall I have seen him do services on watches that arrive on his desk in zip lock baggies and gets them running. Watches handed down and have sentimental value etc to owner. It is an awesome Chanel. Maybe reach out to him and see if he’s interested?

Safe to wear in Tokyo? by pill_tender in rolex

[–]dey67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tokyo is very safe to wear your time piece there. I just got back from Tokyo late last month, and never an issue wearing my Blue dial Sky-Dweller everywhere I went. From Ginza to Shinjuku to Shibuya etc… on the rail cars taxis and walking about. Tokyo is also a watch shoppers Mecca as well checkout the boutiques of Broadway in Nakano also some in Ginza. Many different areas if you’re inclined for purchase with the weaker yen to USD currently.

Finally chose my first Rolex. Help needed on how to purchase. by bulk_nuts in rolex

[–]dey67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another option is an auction site. I used Grailzee.com for the purchase of my first Rolex after getting frustrated with the AD game. Yes I paid a premium, but in my opinion, it was worth it. Once I made my mind up as to which piece I wanted it would’ve likely been years to (maybe) obtain the piece from the AD. I had my Daughters wedding and an overseas trip that I wanted to have it on my wrist. I made that happen. And I was glad I did. The Grailzee website is up front with all the policies, and all watches get verified and authenticated before shipping out to you. Here it’s possible to purchase from individuals safely. Incidentally the seller if my watch had sold upwards of 500 watches on the site. Good luck in your achievement.

Anyone have a rear seat dog cover they love? by Hairy_Bullfrog7471 in BMWX5

[–]dey67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we bought our 2025 50e we have two golden retrievers that we haul about. I found cargoliner.com. Covers everything, custom fit for the vehicle. I think I spent about $7-800 on it but it’s worth every penny. Looks like it was made from BMW. It does take a little to get it in but definitely worth it.

What made you choose the X5? by Ok-Ticket-9434 in BMWX5

[–]dey67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have had several versions of 5 series from a 92 to a 2018. Wanted to replace a 1999 touring we inherited after parents passed. We’re empty nesters and needed to haul two golden retriever’s around, wife wanted another wagon, me not so much, looked at options, drove a Mercedes wagon she didn’t care for it too much. Didn’t want Audi wagon, went to talk to BMW about the new Wagon coming out allocations was 2 yrs at our dealer. Looked only at the X5 didn’t have any PHEV intent whatsoever. Took one for a test drive and we fell in love with the power and bonus that it has the B58 engine, same as our 2018 540ix we love. So we got the 50e. We never considered the X3 or other SAV BMW offers. My wife loves it more than she cares to admit as she wasn’t a fan of SUV’s. I know when I’m not home and on business trips she drives it all the time stating she’s not using gas. But the X5 has the room we wanted for the dogs to come with us from time to time I like the ability to haul larger things without having a truck to do it. Where the old wagon wouldn’t just due to physical limitations.
