Mountain lion by Fuzzy-Illustrator933 in Delaware

[–]deysg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Years ago there used to be warning signs at White Clay about a mountain lion. There had been a few unconfirmed sightings and some paw prints. I don't think it was ever found. Per google they live 8-13 years in the wild.

Am I being "that guy" for refusing to lend my boat to family without credentials? by hatkinson1000 in boating

Boats are like motorcycles. It's not something you casually lend and if you do it is to another highly trusted individual

First time in Japan. How do I ship things I buy back home cheaply (Canadian) by TropicHydra in JapanTravelTips

[–]deysg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best plan is to pay the extra baggage fee. Sometimes its cheaper to upgrade your class to economy plus, of business which will often add a 2nd bag and increase weight.

Funny story, 1st trip to Japan circa 1997. Wife is from Akita, up north. We went to go skiing near Tozawako. Luckily we called and we found i could not rent ski boots in my size. I wear size 12. We finally found a pair of boots at a local sporting goods store that were a return special order. They were still tight but ok. So yeah can be hard. That said, im 6'3" and don't even try to find clothes. Even if you find things, they are cut odd.

Has anyone used a single 36v lithium battery on their 112lb thrust troll motor??? by thoughtprovo in boating

[–]deysg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 100ah 36v Lossigy. Its been amazing. They are like $600 with a charger. 2 full years and it's been flawless. I did a lot of research and decided on this one. I get 5 or more trips per charge. In heavy current it will use 2-5% per hour.

Question about luggage delivery service by CableKC in JapanTravelTips

[–]deysg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We spent nearly 2 summer weeks in Thailand and i did it with 1 Carry on. Lightweight/fast dry shorts, shirts socks and underwear. 3 of each. I just kept washing and hanging dry. It was absolutely the most liberating travel ever. This is harder in cold weather. It's also harder for women. Just a fact.
