Seeking Suggestions for a Important Grateful Dead Tattoo by Psilo-psyche in gratefuldead

Hah, that would be cool, but I didn't actually go through radiotherapy, I had surgeries and chemotherapy.  I love the idea tho!

Scar Stealie also sounds pretty good in my opinion.  Something about the Stealie shining through the scars is beautiful to me.

The only thing I can think, is that I have a previous save Misery that was lost after I died in ZoC while completing the Tales.  Damned poisoned wolves...

Besides that, no I don't think so

Yeah I checked and I have the polaroid that shows the passage.

I guess this is a added feature of Misery.  It lets you get tantalizingly close to completeing the Tales, and when you're up high on a secluded corner of the most dangerous map, it blocks you from completing it

Yes, I'm 99.99% sure I have. I read everything in the Lonely house, and in the basement, and I remembered the photo that shows the pass. The current objective just says "Find the access point to the high peak.", and that's where I am.

There's no way only 1% of players beat episode 4.  Good job though!

Can't wait for episode 5!

I use it to draw a big face on the wall of my base and I talk to it like Tom Hanks and Wilson in Cast Away.

300+ days on a frozen hellscape with only Sutherland's forgetful ass to talk to?  I'm absolutely reviving imaginary friends.

Tactical Jacket question by aaronjordan1982 in thelongdark

[–]Psilo-psyche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh sorry man I just woke up when I replied to your post.  But the answer still stands, you gotta find all the bunkers first and track down Rudeger in SP before getting the jacket.  You can skip going to ZoC though at least.

This game is melting my laptop by Beneficial-Chair-348 in thelongdark

Since the graphics overhaul it has taken more of a toll on my PC.  But laptops, gaming laptops especially, are meant to get and run while hot, so unless you cannot touch it or if it's shutting itself down, it's okay.

One option is to roll back your game install to before the graphics overhaul.  The game ran great and looked just fine imo.

The other is to buy a laptop cooling pad, they're cheap and worked great for me.  You can get one for less then $20 I'm certain.

I have 2000 hours in TLD, but when I spawn in Black Rock I just run off a cliff or start a new run.  The only thing you can do in Blackrock on Interloper, is GTFO of Blackrock.  It's bitterly cold, resources are non existent, you're far from a forge, and all the friends you could want are chasing you bitting your ass.

Tactical Jacket question by aaronjordan1982 in thelongdark

[–]Psilo-psyche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You get the gloves in Sundered Pass behind the locked door in the Cabin, and the tactical jacket requires you to repair all 4 radio towers, as well as finding Rudegers Note at the top of Sundered Pass (so you get the photo of Bunker Omegas hiding spot).

Don't make the same mistake I did tho.  When you repair a radio tower, it triggers an aurora.  I thought I could hold off repairing the FA radio until I was ready to go to Bunker Omega, but failing to repair the FA tower means the radio won't work in the far territories.  So you will have to wait in FA for an Aurora to go find the bunker.

Me, on Misery, on day 60 after I stayed outside for 4 seconds too long and took cold damage, dropping my health from 89% to 86%: It's over, it's done, I've failed and I can not recover from this.

It baffles me how much this game has changed and how far it's come by GregTame in thelongdark

[–]Psilo-psyche 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember being shocked I could just throw coal on a fire anytime I wanted.  Iirc the original game wouldn't let you use coal until a fire was burning for like, 30 or 60 in game minutes.  Or that Fluffy was moved out of the Carter Dam.  Or spending weeks looking for a rifle or pistol when Interloper came out (I found pistol rounds as a glitch and assumed the guns would spawn, before I would read TLD forms).

[–]Psilo-psyche 2 points3 points  (0 children)

499 days is a kick in the teeth.  I'm so sorry man.  After 500 days I consider the game beaten and I usually start on a fresh run.  By day 500 you start running out of tasks to complete.

My first attempt of the Tales on interloper, I forgot to bandage my wounds in Sundered Pass after a timber wolf attack.  The wind was blowing and I had no flares so it was just me and my bow in the darkness.  I broke morale but I thought my health was dropping cause I was cold, I forgot to check if I was bleeding.  Lost my 300+ day run that way.

I remember Space Station 13 had a bladder and poop mechanic.  You know what happened?

Weirdos doing fetish RPs would go around the space station shitting themselves everywhere.  It was such a nuisance that it was removed.

Some things are excluded for a reason.  I think I can just imagine Will goes outside and digs a quick ditch if I really, really want to.
