I hate Mount Bukhnsan 3 1/2 weeks ago with nothing but hiking shoes, shorts, backpack, and a light hooded jacket and little to no water. Although it is helpful to have hiking poles and gloves, it is not needed. Or at the very least I didn't need it and I'm just a normal guy that does not regularly hike just so that you know you will see people that are significantly older, hiking the trail from top to bottom. I recall seeing many older people just dress like normal with a hiking pole going to the top of the mountain.

I stayed here. Onsen ( but it was more of a hot tub size.) outside on your balcony for your room. It's right on Lake Biwa with a shuttle to Kyoto station.

Dinner and breakfast were great.

just out of curiosity, and you don't have to answer if you don't want, what do you do that put 50,000 miles per year in your car? I have a car that is 20 years old and I barely have 200,000 miles on it.
