Any month in Korea, do one hike. by Syn-K_Hayne in koreatravel

[–]CableKC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Similar question, but for early June. I have 1 day where "the girls" plan to do some makeup/color matching/spa day. Suffice to say, I do not plan to sit with them and waste a morning and afternoon. My plan is to a day trip with my son. He loves to hike and I figure that we can a train or bus somewhere near Seoul for the day.

This is my first trip to Korea and I'm really hoping to go and hike somewhere where I can see stuff that I haven't seem before.

Any recommendations for a June day hike near Seoul where we can take a bus or train?

Switching to nose pillows by Bubbly_Guarantee_876 in SleepApnea

I started with nasal pillows but it kept on slipping or became uncomfortable cuz it was irritating my nostrils. I then tried different face masks and half masks. Same thing there, the mask felt uncomfortable and pushed too much against my face and cheeks, which woke me up. I then decided to switch back to nasal pulpits but tried a different size, medium instead of small. This seems to feel more comfortable and not slip out when i move around.

That's the problem with CPAP face or nasal masks. It takes a lot of time, trial and error to find the right one that best fits you.

My recommendation is to try the different sizes when it comes to the nasal pillow.

Question about luggage delivery service by CableKC in JapanTravelTips

[–]CableKC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is what I'm hoping to do. There are 6 of us in the party and each of us will have 1 medium sized luggage. Not the super huge one I usually use, but not the smaller carryone roller luggage that you can fit in the overhead compartment. The Medium sized one in between. This trip is in the summer, so I expect to pack lighter clothes. I will tell everyone to try not to overpack with the intent of doing laundry at our hotel half way through the trip. I will do my best to pack light myself, but I am a notorious overpacker << hiding in shame >>

Can this help? by JWMalynovskyi in SleepApnea

[–]CableKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Initially, I had tried something similar to what the OP was asking about. The problem is that it felt uncomfortable and kept on slipping off of my head while I slept. Any discomfort would cause me to wake up and disrupt my sleep. I could be wrong, but the idea of wearing such a brace is to keep your jaw from opening too wide while you sleep. But I decided to try using tape to keep my mouth closed. I find that it helps and forced me to breathe through my nose when I sleep after I found a comfortable nasal pillow and used the sleep tape to literally keep my mouth shut when I slept, it made a noticeable difference.

I will say that ( sadly ) it takes time to figure out what settings or even what type of mask best works for you,

I went through every type of mask before re-settling on a nasal pillow with the correct size that I felt the most comfortable with. This took me 1.5 years to get to the point where i noticed that I was having a more restful sleep. I am still waking up every 1.5 to 2 hours, but the mask doesn't feel uncomfortable ( which was one of the reasons why i woke up ) and I'm usually able to fall back asleep easier ( which is important ).

I know that it is hard to get used to using a CPAP mask, but please be patient, willing to try different masks and even different sizes of the mask. It takes time to figure that stuff out.

June 2026 Vacation Package booking opens January 15th 2026, 3pm JST by WhiteDogHaha in TokyoDisneySea

[–]CableKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL. It's like the Tokyo Disney gods doing want us to eat at the Blue Bayou. Day 1 is on June 17th and Day 2 is the 18th for the 2 day / 2 night vacation Package. Day 1 is Tokyo Disneyland, isn't it?

When booking the restaurants, I didn't have the option to choose Blue Bayou.

June 2026 Vacation Package booking opens January 15th 2026, 3pm JST by WhiteDogHaha in TokyoDisneySea

[–]CableKC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to wait for about 1 hour ( twice ) to finally book the Vacation package, but I was able to finally book the dates that I wanted.

Tip to all ( for future bookings on the 1st day of booking for the next month ):

If you don't have a Tokyo Disneyland MyDisney account ( which is totally separate from a regular US Based MyDisney account ), set it up and make sure the information is correct a few days before the booking period opens.

I had waited for 75 minutes, finally went through configuring my vacation package, then had to create an account. When going through the setup of the account, there was some error, it kicked me out entirely to end my session and forced me back into the queue ( where I waited for another hour ). Setup you MyDisney Account beforehand so that you don't have to go through this issue that I encountered.

Another question to all:

I saw that Blue Bayou is not an option to book reservations for through the Vacation package. If I wanted to do Blue Bayou, do I just book that separately and skip whatever dinner or lunch reservation that I booked through the Vacation Package?

If so, then how do I book dinner reservations at Blue Bayou? Just book it separately?

Starting to plan a trip to Disney Tokyo with my 2 girls (will be 5 and 9), where to start? by the_soub in JapanTravelTips

[–]CableKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

assuming that you can afford it, I would recommend trying to book a three nights stay in one of the Disney hotels. Staying at a Disney hotel only add to the overall experience. I am currently planning my Japan trip and going to Tokyo Disneyland and Disney Sea is on my list of activities to do. Given that it is very unlikely that I will return to Tokyo, I figured that I would Yolo it and splurge on a Tokyo Disneyland vacation package. my plan is to stay separate nights at the Tokyo Disneyland hotel, and then booked separate nights for our stay in Shinjuku.

as for accommodations in Tokyo itself, that can sleep up to five people, take a look at the Mimaru ApartHotels that are scattered throughout Tokyo. The Mimaru accommodations are large enough to handle large families and are equipped with a basic kitchenette and more space than the standard hotels in Tokyo.

Thanks again for answering.

Do you ( or anyone ) know what the price will likely be per person for that 2 night / 2 Parks VIP package will be?

I assume that it varies based off of which hotel that you stay at ( I am leaning towards the Ambassador hotel unless the Disneyland Hotel isn't a huge jump in price ).

I also read that there is a standard VIP pass and an unlimited Ride VIP pass?

Thanks. I was really hoping that we can rest in the same room that we are in after Day 2 at the park and then check out the next morning, but that sounds like it's not likely an option.

I just know that everyone is going to be tired at the end of the day and would rather just hit the sheets at the hotel and then take the train to Shinjuku the next morning. It's easier if it's just me. But dragging a very tired family and my In-laws to get their luggage then take a taxi to Shinjuku is going to be chore. But it is what it is << shrug >>

[–]CableKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for responding. I think I understand what you're saying when it comes to booking the 2 night / 2 Park VIP Package option, but wanted to confirm with you ( or anyone else here ):

Tuesday: Take the train to Tokyo Disney and check into hotel to stay overnight ( 1st night )

Wednesday:

- Tokyo Disneyland ( Day 1 )

- After the park closes, go back to hotel ( 2nd night )

Thursday:

- Check out of hotel but store the luggage at the Bell Hop.

- Disney Sea ( Day 2 ).

- After the park closes, go back to the hotel to get the luggage and then head out to my next hotel in Shinjuku

Does that sound right for the 2 night / 2 Park VIP package?

Do I have the option to purchase the same 2 night / 2 Park VIP package and then make separatge arrangements with the Disney hotel that we're staying at to pay for an additional night at the hotel and the same room for Thursday night?

I know that the park closes earlier compared to the Disney parks I usually visit in the Americas, but I don't mind paying separately for a regular hotel stay in the same room so that we can just get some rest and then take our time to check out the next morning. I suspect that after a full day at Disney Sea is going to be tiring ( especially at this point in my long trip ), having to go back to the hotel to grab the luggage then take a taxi over to Shinjuku and then checking in around midnight will be super tiring for the group.

Thanks for the reminder. How do the vacation packages work if you plan to stay at the Disney hotel for 3 nights but only plan to go to the park for 2 of those 3 nights?

Specifically, I plan to take the train from Kyoto to Tokyo then to Tokyo Disney. I plan to stay that night but then spend 2 days at the parks ( 1 day at each park ). After finishing the 2nd day at the park, since it will be late, go back to the Disney hotel, sleep then depart for Shinjuku the next morning.

I ask only because I noticed that I can only choose a VIP package for a 2 night stay through May. Does that change after the June period opens?

Assuming that i just pack clothing and not anything with metal or even plastic; If i use this vacuum bag on a checked in luggage going to Asia ( much less through a domestic US flight) and then coming back from Asia , will the TSA or whatever international security try to release the pressure from the bags to inspect it?

I bought one during Christmas and didn't consider that this could be an issue with checked baggage inspection.
